He's lucky he's getting out of there for his own sake, he'll be able to spin it better while his record is only 2-3 can say coaching college just wasn't for him and retire.

I don't think he wins another game this year it's not going to get better, he could have genuinely been like 2-14 by this time next year i truly believe that.

Retiring is the only way to save face, people get old and washed another gig isn't going to help him he doesn't have it anymore, it would look much better for his career if the story was "remember when old Bill went to Carolina for 5 games and didn't have it and retired" rather than trying to reboot somewhere else and it just getting sadder and sadder.

Bill doesn’t need a soft landing media gig right now, he needs to get completely out of the spotlight. Go away for a year or 2 and start to rebuild some of the fractured relationships. At some point he needs to be celebrated in New England but holding grudges and airing grievances will do him no good at all. The next decade of his life should be like Shula in his last decade or so. Celebrate your accomplishments with the people you did it with - players, staff, and even owners and their sons.

If BB had just retired after Super Bowl 53 he would've forever been celebrated as the GOAT coach. Or even after the 2021 or 2022 seasons. The man is in his seventies, heaven knows why he needs all the aggravation.

If BB had just retired after Super Bowl 53 he would've forever been celebrated as the GOAT coach. Or even after the 2021 or 2022 seasons. The man is in his seventies, heaven knows why he needs all the aggravation.

If anything this debacle ending at just 2-3 is good for him.

The longer he stays the worse it gets, right now it's just a 5 game mess at 73 years old imagine how bad it would look if it was 2-10 and then 0-6 start next year before he was fired.

Pulling the plug and retiring is the best thing he can do for himself, go let his kids carve out their own coaching careers it's not done Matt Patricia any harm going out on his own.

She's the proverbial dragon lady. His downslide in New England (late 2021-2023) coincided with the start of their relationship.

Yoko Ono maybe? No actually that's unfair to Yoko and John Lennon, who still hadn't "lost it" even with Yoko warbling on his songs.

My suggestion to Bill at this point is that he should embrace the new legacy he created for himself and maybe just have Mr. and Mrs. Hudson co-coach the Boston Renegades to totally dominate the Women's Tackle Football League!

Pretty sad actually - most of us would have loved to see BB go elsewhere in the NFL and cement his legend by moving ahead of Shula, and are watching all of this like the slow motion train wreck it is.

They suck right now and anyone who doesn't suck can enter the portal and transfer as soon as they change the coach, that roster is gonna be a baron wasteland even worse than it is already.
