Hi All - I have been absent for a looonnnnggg time. I hope everyone is doing well. I am dipping my toe back in to ask if anyone is going to the game in New Orleans, and/or whether you know if there are any Pats bars in New Orleans? I'm seeing the American Sports Saloon maybe? Thanks for any information you can provide, and Go Patriots!

Welcome back, Deb! Still got your season tickets? Don't be a stranger.

Been a few years since I was there.
When I was there, I watched the Pats game at Drew Brees bar, can't remember the name but it was way off bourbon street down by the water.
There was a Manning bar there too, can't remember the name.
So lots of places to watch the game, but I didn't look for a Pats specific bar.

Hi Tune! Yes, I still have my tickets (much to my husband's chagrin ). I don't make it to every game like I used to. How about you?

Back in February 2002, The Corner Bar on Decatur St had a rowdy Patriots crowd... but its 23 years later... so maybe, maybe not?

was still a fun place to go

Yes, of course -- 32 years and counting. Really happy about the Vrabel hire after last year's forgettable fiasco.

Agreed! After Sunday's game I was thinking, "We finally have a team again!" I have to ask, do you use the free parking across from the stadium? It's the only place we go now!

Can't speak to sports bars, but have been there twice in the last two years.

Enjoyed it so much we went back and got married there in March.

Highly suggest Frenchmen Street for awesome music, of many genres - all with no cover charge, just tip the band.

Bourbon Street is an overrated tourist trap, but plenty of great places to meet awesome people for food or drinks just a few blocks away.

If you are feeling super adventurous, check out the world's greatest dive bar, open 24 hours, Aunt Tiki's.
It's on Decatur Street, near Frenchmen.

Tell Victoria that old folk newlyweds John and Lenore from FL say hello, she'll probably buy you a shot.

I think I told you years ago, I park free about 1.5 miles south of the stadium. It's an enjoyable walk most days (except sometimes in December/January). The best part is being able to zip right into traffic about 25 minutes after the game. I thought about opting for the lot you use but didn't like the idea of waiting an hour.

Still there.

Looks like the Corner Bar is now called the Corner Oyster Bar?

I was just there in May, and that sounds correct. Super easy to find.

Right next to Jackson Square, typical sports bar theme (plenty of various team banners for LSU, Saints, etc. and lots of tv's).

It didn't seem to be what I would call a Patriots bar, but did look like a good place to go watch the game.

Everybody in the area is super friendly, don't worry if you are the only Patriot fan.

Food was okay, nothing spectacular, especially considering so many other great restaurants in the city.

I got a laugh over seeing that they still had a payphone inside. . .

But it definitely had more of a vibe of a place to go watch the game than any other place in the French Quarter.

This article gives you a few other options.

I don't recall MRB, that's also in the French Quarter.

If you go closer to the stadium, towards downtown (CBD, Central Business District), I remember going by Walk Ons one morning.
Was much bigger size-wise than the Corner Oyster, and it looked like it would be a fun place to watch any game from.

If that is where you do end up choosing to watch the game, I'd recommend having eggs benedict across the street at Daisy Mae's first (yum), then go to Walk Ons.

My daughter was in school there and I'd go to a Red Sox bar for the Pats.
45 Tchoup on Tchoupitoulas. They didn't have food but I'd bring in hot food from the Rouse's supermarket across the street.
Small, nice folks.
She went back for her wedding there a year or so later and 25 of us saw the 2018 superbowl from a room they let us use off of a hotel bar. This was during the Saints fans protests. I love the people there. How sweet it was.

Thanks all for the suggestions!

I did a search on Patriots fan club in New Orleans. They meet at a place called American Sports Saloon on 1200 Decatur Street. They have a Facebook page so if your on Facebook you could reach out to them, I’m not on Facebook so I couldn’t see anything on their page. I did look at some photos of the place, it’s not the place I went to for the first Pats and Rams Super Bowl, leading up to that Super Bowl a guy from New Orleans called the Big O show on WEEI and said he was from Massachusetts and he owned a bar in the French Quarter and wanted all the Pats fans to make that their home when they come down for the game, the place was big, of course I can’t remember the name of it, I, sometimes wonder if it survived Katrina.

Me and my father went to the WEEI party they hosted I assume it would have been the same bar since Big O and Smerlas did their show live during the event.

The best part was that before the party while killing some time we noticed a hotel lobby full of Patriots fans and upon further inspection it was the players family hotel and we bumped into Willie, Bryan Cox, Torrence Smalls, and just missed Seymour but a proud cousin was bragging about him.

Were they doing 3 beers for one until 6:00pm? It must’ve been a different bar because WEEI wasn’t performing their radio show from there. We were there Friday and Saturday and again Sunday before the game, why not when they were offering 3 for one beers.

I think the party came with free drinks. We aren't big drinkers but I remember a good buffet. And we did have a decent time on Bourbon after the game lol.
