Ok, you are just wrong. Not really really wrong. Maye in his first game turned the ball over three times and only completed 60.6% of his passes. He one more TD, but one of his TDs was in garbage time. Today he completed 75.7% of his passes today.

As of right now, I believe Maye is top 3 in completion percentage.

The Int was tipped at the line or would have been an easy TD
Tipped ball will actually ended way behind our receiver. Maye didn’t go for corner route

Activate Jennings to the open roster spot and consider him for short yardage situations.

He made the right decision, the ball was tipped.
Problem #1

Deflected ball on a flat pass===> crushing yet completely avoidable turnover....clear as day
he threw to the receiver the play dictated who was open.
We can cry about everything that went wrong and just blame whoever we feel like, but let’s try to be honest and realistic.
The other team gets paid too.

Maye was worse today than he was in his debut start against the Texans last year? Depends how you look at it. 88.3 rating in that game vs 102.1 today. But his mistakes were more costly today.

Either way if we see steady improvement this season then we’re closer to answering if he’s the guy or not.

Anyone else want to see more YAC from our WR?

Get Diggs more involved, he looks shifty when he actually gets the ball and he came down with 3 of 3 catches today.

Chism for Pop the moment he's up to speed with the playbook.

Kyle Williams down the field targets would be nice just to keep the D honest. He was a beast downfield at Wash State.

Henderson in space, was hoping he'd have some catching opps given how elusive he is - seems to be running into brick walls a lot in crowded lines.

They were only more costly because the Texans blew out the Patriots in Drake Maye's first game.

Still optimistic about the team.

The offense went up and down the field and showed a lot of signs that they are going to be able to execute.

They made critical bonehead mistakes, but to me these are correctable with good coaching.

And our defense shut the Steelers down for majority of the game. They got left hanging by the offense but fought and gave us a chance to win.

There's still holes that can be improved with a more talented player but I'm optimistic about the team.

Maye is legit.
OL much improved.
Front 7 would be elite if we had better ILBs.
Gonzo coming back will make all of our other CBs play look better.

Remember when I told you in the offseason that Diggs was toast?

Was I right?

Besides the sack and then the fumble i thought maye did great considering. Hes sustaining long ass drives; sometimes turnovers bite you in the ass.

Pop needs to plow forward on the last play. Easily could have been a big win against the steelers but fumbles are killers.

Stevenson is lucky he's got a rookie being him. His touches should be significantly lowered next week

You can’t be watching games with any idea what you are looking at if you doubt Maye is the guy. It’s not even arguable, it’s just a matter of how quickly the team around him stops making his job more difficult.

My bad you’re right he’s crushing it.

He is raw and it shows.

If he’s still making poor decisions and fumbling at the end of the season than a lot of questions need to be asked.

I know in other sports, there have been good players who turned great in year four or five. That doesn't appear to be the case historically with QB's. If a guy isn't elite after year three, it's probably not going to happen.

Maye has time. But it's up to Maye, McDaniels, and the QB coach to get it done. He can do it. But having the talent and executing it are two different things entirely.

Tom Brady was considered a top 5 QB by 2003. Mahomes very early. Brees may be an outlier. Rodgers was elite by 2010.

There aren't many QB's to draft who appear to be better. I think he gets 2026.

Agreed.

Is this Offense a 14-point Offense? I would think that the Offense is better than that, perhaps a 24-point Offense (against weak teams) with 5 giveaways and lots of penalties.
As Parcells used to say, You are what your record says, no excuses

Today
14 points
5 turnovers
5 sacks
0 sacks from defense

1-2 record

Speaks for itself. Still a bottom 5 team
