So does the fact Miami gave Buffalo a decent game mean Miami is good enough that our win over them suggests we are more competitive than we might have thought? It doesn't necessarily, but maybe it justifies a little bump in our optimism.
I thought Buffalo looked great. Allen really is the best there is at this point, by a secure margin: as precise as he is fearless, really clever, tough. They have a LOT of weapons. Yet Miami gave them a decent run for their money. I suppose you could say, "Well, we beat Miami, and Buffalo beat Miami, so that makes us and Buffalo equal." That'd be nuts, of course, but it sure looks nice on that knick knack shelf in the back of your mind.
