People saying we shouldn't use T Henderson as a Bell/Cow RB keep dreaming. Have they seen Rham try to run?? Don't judge T Henderson against the Almighty: just him against the alternatives.
Two wrong doesn’t make a right. Stevenson suck but I still don’t think Henderson is built to be a bell cow back.

I hate to make this comparison already but Zach Wilson had a lot of the exact same issues Maye is having right now with sailing throws and turnovers. Just saying. If Allen is an example of the payoff for a raw QB, Wilson is the “payoff” the other way.

All I know is Maye has a lot of work ahead of him and so do the coaches. Head scratcher why he sat out the Giants preseason game.
100% Maye could have had three picks yesterday: if the Defense was in the area of those sailers horrible passing.

It was all unnecessary hero ball all the time until he threw the pick, then he turned into Checkdown Roethlisberger. And then missed the checkdowns. His overall numbers look so much better than he actually played.

Again, it wasn't 'they couldn't run the ball'. They didn't try.
McD is always in a hurry to go away from the run. Unless he had BB looming over him commanding "You will run" it just is not part of his thinking.

They might have to make Drake Maybe a game manager until he gets it. He's not ready for prime time we need a Game changing RB to take the pressure off: Henderson might be that guy.

It’s the same stuff as last year. Crap the bed when you need him to put the game away.

10-7 coming out of the half. Get a TD drive there and the game is basically over. Instead Maye as usual when you need a big drive from him he throws a pick and give the momentum and the game away. It’s uncanny how he is consistently able to do that
Hard to say your wrong there as Drake has shown this. I'm really trying to find optimism but to your point last season and season's prior the offense has been the primary problem. However going forward if this continues then maybe Drake isn't the guy we thought him to be. This was self inflicted we had the raiders offense stymied. That TO absolutely ignited them. I feel Williams was willing to concede giving up some yards in the pass game.. they shut the run down and held them to 20 points.. defense did more than enough to win. 2nd half offense was non existent

I was at the game. Drake did not look good. He looked like he had trouble reading the defense and was inaccurate to a fault.

The defense was up and down - lot of guys running free.

Overall, not good. Mostly terrible.

Drake maye being the guy took a big hit today.

Ill add that the OL looked significantly better than last year and gave Drake enough time for the most part.

Drake when he made plays in the first half is what his potential is.. the second half the offense didn't show up.. that's really where the game was lost twin.. there are still some encouraging things to take.. without all pro gonzo defense held thier own.. 20 points is nothing in the league.. look at Buffalo Allen has to play super hero in order for them to win like last night.. we are going to have to ride the defense while the offense comes along..

20 points, 6 sacks, 1 INT. Is more than enough to win from a defense missing it's all pro. You were at the game so you can speak to it more than anyone watching on TV.

This. Everyone is ok with growing pains until they actually experience the pain part.
Well said Mikey, I am still encouraged by a lot of things. For example Crosby was essentially a non factor did he record a sack? Campbell held his own...

Watching these QB's after watching Brady for 20+ years, is like dating an incredibly attractive woman who also happens to be very intelligent, funny and compassionate, unfortunately she gets a job overseas and moves abroad. You start dating again by going out with Camneesha, who dresses like it's Halloween every day, talks about how she ''lost her mother a few weeks ago but hey, the Titanic still has to go''. You never call again and start dating Macey, an out of shape, average looking girl who seems intelligent but by the second date you realize all the supposed smarts were two rehearsed opinions, that get repeated every conversation. Finally, you meet Dracona, a cute woman who seems kind, finds your jokes funny, but after a year, it seems apparent that your jokes aren't that funny, but Dracona will laugh at anything out of fear of offending you, and she still needs you to repeat everything twice so she can process why person X killed person Y on that show you watch together.

The less said about Bailey and all the people whispering in your ear ''She's the one, give her a chance!'', the better.

The main event issue which stuck out. Offense has no explosive plays. That you me is the main story. Henderson... No big plays. Williams I think barely played. Everyone else pretty much did work man like jobs on offense. Made chain moving plays, but nothing explosive. And when you do don't have those you need to be so damn consistent on those small plays. And they aren't.

You do realize this is the first real game these guys have played together, right? 1/2 the roster turned over and more than half of the starters were playing their first game together. And the entire coaching staff is new. It will take time to become cohesive and execute effectively. I get that people are disappointed they lost, but fans need to be patient. This is a multi year rebuild with very young QB trying to learn really complicated offense, and that takes time. I’m not saying people shouldn’t look at performances critically and gauge who is playing well and who isn’t, or what units are getting it done and what units aren’t, I’m just saying that it needs to be put into the proper context, which in this case is that it’s their first real game playing together.

I don't know how you could make that determination off of 5 carries. Good ones, btw.
Nothing to do with his play. I just think he isn’t durable enough to survive the punishment. He wasn’t in college.

My opinion is you don’t get ready from prime time. It’s an intangible. You are able to handle to high pressure moment or you don’t. Drake Maye is clearly in the don’t category.

Last thought. The offense was in shotgun every snap but like 2. Both under center snaps were runs.

Not good

So why did Maye and the offense not play in the Giants preseason game again? They need the work especially the QB.

I picked them to finish last in their division they lost a lot of good coaches.
Most of their big plays were schemed.

Back to us, it’s a lack of offensive line protection but also Maye do do any move in that pocket box, Brady and Rodgers are masterful at manipulating that box to move up and around the pocket, Maye scrambles out of it and then is throwing off platform, when it works its aww aspiring, but we have more inaccurate throws than Big plays Made.

The o line and Maye need to settle, getting explosive plays from Williams and Diggs, and moving Chism to be a security blanket.

I would like to see a formation with Diggs, Chism,Williams.

Line Williams and Henderson up on the same side with Chism.

Have Williams go deep
Down the sideline, Henderson to act like he’s running the post then cut his route on a timing pattern with Chism to be around 8 to 10 yds away from Henderson.
Gives the Defense a lot to think about, hopefully you get the safety to bite on Williams, and you have Henderson for a big completion or if that’s covered you have Chism for a completion.

You have Diggs on the left running a slant to the middle this will open the left up for Maye to have some space if he chooses to run.

Just a thought.

I didn’t see many formations putting stress on the defense.

Again same thing was plaguing us.

No fear from the Raiders we would take the top off and we didn’t give them much to think about.
Good points. We didn't have enough in the run game to set up play action. That's why the raiders played the type of coverage. We have enough on offense to score. I tend to believe Drake is more of the QB we saw in the first half then the second. It's going to take a little more time for the offense to gel. We have plenty on defense to compete. We lost by a TD.. the Patriots beat the Patriots yesterday
