Hooper was Maye's security blanket on more than one occasion. I disagree that his contributes nothing.

He's also an above average Run Blocker.

Call me skeptical but I don't Vrabel is ready to demote Dobbs yet.

I think they'll have either 9 or all 10 OL active - because it's such an unknown still.
Most inactives look to be from D side.
But I bet 1 of 2 rookie WR will sit - it may be a week to week thing depending how each is developing or what skill set they need more based on Diggs' efficacy.

I would certainly sit the 10th OL since he hasn't signed yet.

I wouldn't have Lowe active. Bryant can backup both LT and RT.

I actually saw DaBruinz comment first and went and checked it out and saw those stats, so he was more productive than I remembered.

I think Chism has the ability to play outside as well, but I think he is still a few weeks at least away from getting any real playing time.

At 5'10" and running a 4.7 40 I don't see Chism on the outside much. Usually the boundary players are tall, fast, or ideally tall and fast. Why do you see Chism outside?

All 6 WRs active... Also Mapu is clearly ahead of Gibbens at LB.

Who i think will play who are on the edge and why.

Ponder - They want to give him live NFL snaps ASAP I think.. They want to see what he can develop into, and is he behind Pharms at that point as a DL man? I don't think so.
Chism - They will want to use Efton on returns at times to not always risk Marcus/Henderson. With Gonzo hurt they will guard Marcus from more risky duties a bit and Henderson will be on a snap count.
Woods - You can argue he doesn't know the system well enough... but who else do they have... My guess is if they need him it will be for limited coverage looks.

if Gonzo sits and Austin starts, I would think DJ James and Woods are next men up, and both are core ST players.

But 8 or 9 active OL should be plenty.
Have to active both backup OTs, unless you believe Wallace is still an OT.

It was reported that Chism's 4.7 wasn't accurate. I forget who mentioned it.. Maybe @manxman2601 knows.

Edelman lined up all over the place. So has Douglas. Whether or not Chism can is another story.

I’m afraid you won’t. This is regular season. Coaches are setting the lineup they think has best chance to win, not to evaluate players.
Josh will go with the WRs he has the most confidence in: Diggs, Pop, Hollins, Boutte are sure bets as established veterans.
If he plays one of the rookies I think he will have more confidence and see more value in Chism than Williams.
And Chism is the fair haired UDFA favorite this year.
Thats why I think Williams will sit unless all WRs are active. I hope he’s active. I’d like to see him in game action. But that’s how I’m reading the coaches’ minds.

Here’s my guess at the roster. I pretty much followed the unofficial depth chart on the team site. I think 3 backups for 5 positions on the OL is just too thin, so couldn’t have all WRs active. It’s a numbers game. On D I thought about going with 4 CB to open another slot for the last WR, using a S to help in coverage, but that seemed too much risk for too little reward. So one WR has to sit.
EDIT TO ADD: on further consideration I can see them going with just 5 instead of 6 for the IDL, if they really want all WRs active. But I’m thinking Vrabes will want a full rotation to keep the DL fresh, and that’s my preference too.

Who is Robinson?

The Team has two: Layden Robsinson (Season ending IR) and Mark Robinson (PS).

Gibbens is a core Special Teamer. As is Mapu.

Woods is primarily a Special Teamer. He only saw 13 Defensive snaps in 12 games for the Rams. So, knowing the defensive system isn't an issue.

I would prefer either of those 2 over Pharms. Pharms has good moments that had me thinking he might be a player, unfortunately that was 2 years ago. I suspect you may be right and Vrabs goes with the more veteran guy however.
