Guesses on the Active Roster for Sunday?

I actually expect Chism to play, probably mostly ST, but he can get open really quick, so wouldn't be surprised if he plays some offense.

IF Chism gets open quick on Offense: he'll be playing a lot.

Yeah I could wrong but right now I have Hollins ahead of Boutte. It might be because he started on the PUP and had to play catch up but by my eye Hollins got more reps and more meaningful reps than Boutte did when they were both healthy.

And I was not part of the group that was all in on Hollins during the off-season. Just going by what I think I saw.

Just taking a Quick Look at Patsfans while I’m working and I’m stunned that Lawyer Milloy has been released. WTF Vrabel??? The team must HATE!!!! him. I guess he just doesn’t want to win as much as Sam, sbb, and I do.

I would probably sit barefoot Hollins if it comes down to it; and play the young guys. Chism backs up Pop and Williams backs up Boutte. Regarding Chism and Williams: one brings Great Quickness the other brings Elite Speed.

I think Chism dresses if they decide to use him instead of Marcus as PRer due to Gonzo's injury.

I think the more interesting one is Williams. Boutte came on early and we were all pretty sure pretty quick he was going to make the roster. He's been pretty steady all summer too but I don't he's so good that others can't have passed him. Hollins I think might be ahead of him and I wouldn't be shocked if Williams is too. Week 1 might be a little quick for this but I think they will give him his chances to beat out Boutte as the year goes on.

Boutte is a starter.
Hollins should be inactive.

OK, how often do you believe that we will run 4 WR sets (presumably plus having a RB for protection)? We would then be sitting Henry and two of the RB's and using the 4 active WR's.

I think that situation would be rare, but 4 active WR's would be out there in that circumstance. If one were to be injured, Henry or a RB would be out the in the rare 4 WR formations.

I'd much rather have our TE/FB active for use in a small number of reps, rather than a 5th WR.

As an aside, I would very rarely want to sit Henry in order to have 4 WR's on the field.

There are surely situations where he can run 4 wide. McD historically has run the spread with 11 personnel and a TE, or RB split wide.
He does that to create mismatches. You get different personnel on defense if you have 11 personnel on the field that 4 wide, and you get a better opportunity to get a wr on a lb or safety.

2 QB's-Maye, Dobbs
3 RB's-Stevenson, Henderson, Gibson
2 TE's-HH, Hooper
8 OL men-Campbell, Wilson, Bradbury, Onwenu, Moses, Bryant, Brown, Wallace
4 WR's
if Marcus returns punts and Gibson/Henderson returns KO's, I do not see Chism active. either/or between Boutte/Williams

He’s on the scout team, playing the role of Tre Tucker. It’s a hint that he hasn’t yet made a big jump into the top group of WRs.

Probably would have dressed 3 TEs anyway but with one of them also FB I think Westover dresses too.

I think McDaniels really like Chism: and Pop Douglas can also play outside according to WR Hater BB.

I think Chism has the ability to play outside as well, but I think he is still a few weeks at least away from getting any real playing time.

I think they'll have either 9 or all 10 OL active - because it's such an unknown still.
Most inactives look to be from D side.
But I bet 1 of 2 rookie WR will sit - it may be a week to week thing depending how each is developing or what skill set they need more based on Diggs' efficacy.

My guess is that we dress 4 WR's. sitting both Williams and Chism.

After all, we have FIVE other targets: Henry, Hooper, Henderson, Stevenson and Gibson.

Yes, I know that many posters prefer to have 10 or 11 receiving targets as being essential for a team focused on the run game.
