Guesses on the Active Roster for Sunday?

Diggs
Pop
Hollins
Boutte

Will be active and Williams will get a few snaps too.
Barefoot Hollins third in the pecking order why?? Dudes a #5 WR at best: I still think they dress Five add Chism.

He knows the offense the best and will play special teams. A height of 6 - 4 is beneficial as well.

Agreed.
As much as some posters don’t like Hollins, he’s a vet, he brings size no other WR we have does, and he’s a willing blocker. Can’t imagine a world where he isn’t active week 1.

Chism’s time will come, but I would rather see Williams this week if we go with 5.

Williams and Chism will earn their opportunities.

IF Hollins was using that Height to his advantage: his numbers career wise wouldn't be so pedestrian. We have seen 5'11 and 6'0 WR's around the league who plays Bigger than him. Some Patriots Fans have the habit of over rating our own players.

I agree, but I think his ability to leverage defenders is actually his strongest trait. I think learning the nuances of where everyone else is on every play, and how to exploit that is where his learning curve will be.
Which is one of the reasons that I am ecstatic about Diggs because that is a strength of his. He knows how to run certain routes in order to open areas of the field so other WRs can get open. Diggs value goes beyond what he does on the field. I think the future is bright with Pop, Booty, Williams and ****ton

My guess is that we dress 4 WR's. sitting both Williams and Chism.

After all, we have FIVE other targets: Henry, Hooper, Henderson, Stevenson and Gibson.

Yes, I know that many posters prefer to have 10 or 11 receiving targets as being essential for a team focused on the run game.
I'm thinking 5.. I think Williams be active on Sunday. Chism will likely be the inactive player. Williams provides an element of an outside the numbers guy. Either way we'll have enough out there to compete.

There really isn't. I've tried everything.

No, that's true. you want everyone else's and then none of the guys in Foxboro.
Love me some Jim Jones Kool aid. Mmmmmmm.

700 yards and 4 TDs in a season gets you in a red jacket around here.

Hollins did use his height for a TD in the 2024 AFCC.

I mean if they want to have him do some blocking maybe play on a special team unit fine, but when we are throwing the ball if he is in the field he is a liability.
If you have 3 wides and one of them has about the lowest chance to catch a pass when he runs a route of any receiver in the league (based upon his real production numbers) you are at a disadvantage

690 yards in 646 passing snaps while playing 1030 snaps (94% of them)
Got him a quick ticket out of LV and in to a 18 catch season in Atlanta, which got a quick ticket out of there to Buffalo who didn’t bring him back either.

I’m not sure what you expect out of a WR 3 or 4.

Dotson was Phillys #3 WR last year.
He had 216 yds on 426 pass snaps, 674 total offensive snaps.

Quick math tells me Hollins averaged just over a yard per route run.

Dotson was less than half that.

That’s just one example, but again, what are you expecting from a WR 3/4?

You make it sound like his efficiency is incredibly bad for a 3rd or 4th WR, and it is not.

The horse has died!

We all know that you didn't want Hollins on the team, don't want him to be active, and if active only want him to have a minimal role, perhaps ST's and in the Red Zone.

His past stats aren't that different from #4 and #5 WR's on other teams, but that isn't very relevant IMO. Vrabel has made his decision and as is always the case, some posters disagree with the coach. Josh will decide how much of a role Hollins has and some will disagree with that choice.

I expect him to not have career production numbers per snap that are about league worst.
He wasn’t a 3/4 in LV he played 94% of the snaps.
Are you asking do I want a guy who can’t get open out there because he’s only a 3/4 of course not.
If you are telling me WR3 in an offense with Daquan Barkley AJ Brown Devonte Smith and a QB who ran for 630 yards and 14 TDs only saw 33 targets I’d say our WR3 needs to be more productive because we don’t have those guys.
I wouldn’t want Dotson either btw, he sucks too. Hes not suddenly good by association because he was on a team that win inspite of him.

A yard per route run is TERRIBLE. That is exactly the point and he did that when he was their WR2.
2 guys we drafted in the 6th round and called the least talented WR group in the NFL in their first 2 years have 1.53 and 1.14 yards per route run and Boutte was 1.26 last year.
25 to 50% better and they were the least talented WR room in the league. With a Hollins we got worse.

Diggs for his career btw is 2.09.
He’ll, Austin Hooper is 1.37 and Rhamondre Stevenson is 1.01.

A yard per route run stinks for a WR and is pathetic for a WR2.

Yes they are different and worse than WR4 and 5 on other teams, although most treats choose to keep young players over proven non productive players.

So you are saying the coach made a decision, we no longer have a right to an opinion? When he runs 30 routes and catches 1 pass, that’s ok because Mike and Josh say so?
Really?
Why have a discussion board?
