He didn't draft himself in the first round... all he he did was to play good football - was the best player on the line at times - and he played hurt when we needed help, which lead to an even worse injury... and he still came back to help when the center position imploded last year...

I bet Josh trusts Bourne to make the right read more than he can trust Kyle Williams right now. Bourne & Diggs on the outside is an interesting combo with Pop, Hollins and Boutte. Whatever. This group of WRs with Henry, Hooper and Henderson as options is so much better than anything we've seen in a long while. If the OL comes together, Drake is gonna have a big year. He is an incredible accurate passer. It's all going to come down to the offensive line being able to do a competent job.

This just isn’t the way receiving units are put together. They aren’t listed 1-5 or 1-6, they are used in separate roles to maximize the space on the field.

I didn't think vested vets with 3 years didn't have to clear waivers.. Only those with less than 3 years. (EDIT: I stand corrected. It's 4 accrued).

Wait, does that mean the Patriots don't have to wait 24 hours to re-sign a vested player to the practice squad? I thought the 24-hour rule applied to everyone after 4:00 pm on roster cutdown day.

Obviously not good but ignores the fact that '23 was actually quite good: Gonzo, Mapu, Boutte, Pop and Keion. Not a world beating draft class but pretty good.

Cole Strange era is finally over.

Mapu and Bourne just keep hanging around.

Dugger rumor was too good to be true, but expect this is his final year.

I don't care for Jennings, but the odds were in his favor. Some posters had a weird fascination with Swinson for some reason.

Tavai will be a reserve when he returns.

Bourne is extremely well regarded by the players and coaching staff as a veteran in that room. If he's on the field in five wide sets, he can be a threat. Last season he was the #1 wideout and couldn't separate. If Diggs draws the top DB, Bourne can be productive.

Talk about lipstick on a pig... he was atrocious last year. He's better than that but let's not pretend he played like a world beater that just need to be properly used to be effective.

Yep. And with this group, there is over-lapping.

Boutte/Diggs/Hollins/Bourne have all lined up outside and in the slot.

Douglas lined up all over the place at Liberty but has been primarily a slot guy for the Pats. Chism is likely his back-up.

Baker and Williams are young bucks looking to take over the outside receiver roles.

Boutte, Bourne, and Hollins are all signed for one more year, but if beaten out, can be cut with minimal loss.

I really like the way this Patriots management goes about business. Loved the analytical style draft. I really like how they are analyzing these players regardless of draft status. Swinson a 5th rounder, too bad, beat out by UDFA Ponder.
Cloe Strange struggling but you get 100% dead cap and no cap relief: release him anyways.

They have a plan, they execute, let's just hope they can keep building this team, future is bright with these guys IMO.
