So let's be clear, Wozzy and I were talking about Jake Andrews released after being in IR when he had fully recovered.

And who's our center? No one is sure.

Who's the starting Texans' center?

This is what used to be called a fireable offense. We brought in Bradbury, a guy that turns out to be inadequate at pass blocking. Ben Brown his backup is terrible at run blocking. And the Strange69 fella can't quite get the swing of things.

So Jared Wilson, the rookie should start at center. But the solution to the problem was let go.

Jake Andrews was let go Monday, April 28. Just after the draft. Jared Wilson, the rookie has only one year's starting experience at Georgia.

The guy that was supposed to start last year was Jake Andrews. But he got hurt and went on IR.

So you just let him go when the other guy you brought in, Ben Brown, was ranked dead last and was overwhelmed at times?

And the Texans claimed him the following day. Their assistant OL coach knows all about him.

Cole Popovich coached him at Troy.

Now Jake Andrews is healthy and doing fir the Texans what he was supposed to be doing for us.

Eliot Wolf, you kinda suck.

Eliot Wolf does suck but don’t absolve Vrabel and Cowden. Those are the guys who are the real decision makers now.

Eliot Wolf does suck but don’t absolve Vrabel and Cowden completely. Those are the guys who are the real decision makers now.
Good personnel decision = Vrabel and Cowden did it
Bad personnel decision = Wolf did it

Sin entered the world=Eliot Wolf.
Sin abolished=Ryan Cowden.

Yep. That about sums it up for me. Thanks for helping me clarify.

That is fair

1000% but the new regime should also take some responsibility

How about Antonio Mafa who is going to make the Raiders 53 as a guard.

This is going to drive me crazy this year. I can already see Wolf as the scapegoat for anything that goes wrong.
Depending on what goes wrong, it might be accurate.

Releasing Jake Andrews was a mistake. However, I’m confident that the team drafted Wilson to be the future center. No one anticipated the many misses at left guard. It makes sense to trade for a quality left guard, even if they believe Wallace will eventually be a starter in that position.

How? Eliot Wolf already did his damage in previous years. Now the decision makers are Vrabel and Cowden. Whatever happens from here, positive or negative should be owned by those guys.

Vrabel is beloved so I can already tell the fans will want to protect him and shift blame if things go poorly.

Yeah but we know jack **** about the true inner workings so it's just going to be a bunch of people with an agenda going "See that was (good|bad) and the (credit|blame) goes to [agenda_target]."

And LG is too new for Wilson.
Wilson played a fair amount of backup left guard at Georgia his first two years, and in his draft day interview he also talked about the change in vision from guard to center.

If 'what goes wrong' is stuff that happened before Vrabel got here, then it's fine to blame Wolf.

For 2024….and it was a disaster. But before that it was Bill. Anyone who thinks Bill allowed someone else to make personnel decisions… didn’t follow the team for 20 years.

Ian is busy wind surfing off Dover Point right now. Just tell the crazies to take a walk. Works for me.
LOL, Ian's not doing anything of the sort. I'm a little out of shape these days and definitely need to work on that.

Aside from that, working on updating some older areas of the site and adding a couple of things. Trying to get that done and working on it each day before I head out in the afternoons ahead of next week when the contests and everything start up again.

Jake Andrews was not someone Eliot Wolf had been behind or scouted.

The Patriots coaches saw Jake Andrews at the East-West Shrine game and that's why they chose him.

He played well in 2 games at the end of his first year... but Marrone had to think he had some limitations. We'll see what happens this year.

If he's another Hjalte Froholdt, there may become a new argument that you need to allow some of these players to develop.
