Bailey Zappe is a likely cut by KC: do you know what time it is? [Update: He's been cut]

I vaguely remember he had a couple of nice passes in the opening drive and that was pretty much it.
I was bummed. It's always fun to root for ex players and I was definitely rooting hard that day. Honestly, that was probably the worst I've ever seen him look. Almost wondered if he was hurt, given how badly he was throwing the football.

We'll sign a QB from among other team cuts to go on the practice squad

But this isn't the season in which one expects or even wants a seasoned NFL veteran on the team behind Maye.

Dobbs is non-threatening and if Maye goes down, has the team in a GREAT position to gain a Top Ten draft pick next year!

And I think that's legit the game plan - this team isn't even considered a contender WITH Maye yet - they're sure not going to do that with Dobbs or whoever they pickup at this point - by design.

In retrospect, was the idea he was at least Mac's equal really all that crazy? I was not a Zapsterphiliac at the time, but now I wonder.

Zappe was at least a notch below Mac. But both were a headache and we should be thankful they're gone.

We need a qb2 who can take hits and throw some great balls to receivers who can catch it and give great practice but at same time make 1 or 2 boneheaded interceptions to get us top 10 pick in maye absence.

We can use all high draft picks for next year too

Absolutely not.

Going back to Zappe is the equivalent of shacking up with and old partner that you never really liked much because it’s better than being alone.

I’d rather bring back Vince Wilfork as an emergency QB than Zappe.

Outscored 19-0 in the fourth quarter, but he wasn't asked to do much. (He was 4/6 for 25yds). I scanned through it a bit ago and he looked like he looked in January. Crazy to think he put together two blowout wins, although Mac put up 50 twice in 2021, so I guess none of that means a whole lot.

Pats are done with Zappe. They are not bringing him back.
I think Dobbs is much better than he showed in preseason. Vrabel has full confidence in him

As previously said...Zappe has no experience with our coaches. So it doesn't really make sense to say the Pats are done with him if he never played for them. It's unlikely Zappe will join the Pats again but it won't be because the Pats are "done with him".

Brian Hoyer never won a single game with the Patriots. He was with the team 3 different times. At least Zappe is 4-4 with the Pats...on teams much worse then the Brady years.

That's what I tell my boss at work. I'm much better than I showed this week at work.

It doesn't fly.

We could have had the best backup QB perhaps in the whole league if we had double dipped at QB after Drake. Spencer Rattler fell all the way to the fifth round, largely because of how he had acted five years earlier on some tv show.

He matured mightily, especially after Caleb Williams supplanted him as the starter at Oklahoma and he transferred to the Gamecocks of South Carolina.

His last year he had a godawful OL. UNC's with Maye were like the freakin' 1970s Steriod Steelers by comparison.

Spencer Rattler is neck and neck to be the Saints QB1 with the 25 year old rookie Wonder Boy the Saints drafted early in the second round. Tyler Shough I think his name is.

Do you think I should get a huge Spencer Rattler tattoo on my back like Roger Stone has of Nixon?

You might as well. Shough easily won the QB competition. The only thing Rattler's going to be doing is holding a tablet.
