They better not ****ING DARE keep this mother****er ahead of The Chizz.
Relax, cap, at this point I think Chism is a lock. Also think Baker has a good shot but probably practice squad. Polk looks like toast.
My opinion of Baker has been like yours:
didn't like his smartass attitude to go along with his absolute uselessness on the field. But I was shocked in a good way by what he's done in TC/preseason plus a total attitude adjustment. Willing to do whatever it takes. We'll see if it lasts.
But it's a good thing

I often saw Peppers dropping into a linebacker spot during the last preseason game. I think Dugger is the only other safety with the physicality to do that. I think you are right that this is his last year as a Patriot.

I also saw him take snaps in slot coverage... But that's Pep; he's always been a versatile defender. Uncle Dugg? Not so much.

I think we'll see a lot of running and a decent amount of screens, dump offs to the backs, and scrambles until some that timing is better. I still expect that should be enough to be better than last year. And hopefully that timing comes around quickly. I think once they establish Rham and Henderson in their roles and the run game as whole the rest will follow quickly.

Then we're gonna need more than 3 RBs and fewer than 7 WRs.

I just read that RB Larison got put on injured reserve. That's a shame because he was having such a good camp.

Looks like we are going with Henderson/Stevenson/Gibson then as our main trio. Do you need more than 3 RB in today's NFL?

No, you don't need a 4th RB, anymore than you need a 2nd QB. A 4th RB is only useful if there is an injury.

At least at RB, we can play with RB's for the rest of the game and then add someone from the 2 Practice Squad RB's. If we really have a 4th that we prefer, then he should be on the 53.

Yup looks like we are looking for that 4th RB who will probably get stashed on practice squad. I just read we released Prince and signed Shane Watts. I'm a doubter we keep 4 RBs on the 53.

And please guys stop counting Slater as a WR, he's purely here for ST.
And if Baker somehow makes it to the 53, it will be as a STer as well at this point.
His path will be longer, might need to develop as a STer/PS guy and wait for his chance like some others before him.

There's no shame in that. We've had great receivers like Troy Brown and Edelman who took similar longer paths before becoming featured players.

PS I'm of the opinion that Chism makes the 53 as a rookie. Just have a good feeling about him.

But wasn't schooler Slater's replacement. So there is effectively no additional spot available for gunner .

Why do we keep talking about Slater? He's retired.
