Imagine if Baker winds up as the new Slater ? Baker adds better WR skills, but man, Slater was FAST coming out of college.
Stop with Javon Baker please: he hasn't done nothing to make the team. Anybody can do what he's doing on ST's.

Are you in charge with roster decisions ?

Chism has clearly outplayed him and that Polk Bust. Get healthy Kendrick Bourne.

Diggs - Pop - Boutte - Williams - Hollins - Bourne and Chism.

Baker easy PS candidate.

I hate to keep harping on the passing game as that is only one part of why you win. run defense, pass defense, special teams, running game... ect...

But at this point this team looks like it will be as good as the passing game allows it to be. They seem ready to be a very good run team. Their D will be able to get some pressure. Once they have their top 2 CBs back and out there you'd think they'd have a good pass D, particularly with the depth they've shown. It's not all all pros but it all seems pretty solid.

Yes this passing attack has honestly been disappointing. I know Diggs is still getting back into it but we start in less than a month and right now is he really doing that much better than Pop or Hollins or Boutte? I don't think so. He seems to be the #1 only by reputation to this point. I feel like i've heard more positive things about Boutte and Pop to this point in camp.

You keep hearing about multiple drops all around every day by everyone.

You keep hearing about Drake taking 'sacks' and missing throws.

It is not good enough. I've said before and i will say again. If this team doesn't make the playoffs this year is a failure IMO. Drake and Co to go where we want them to need playoff experience. IF they don't get it this year... that means next year is pretty much destined to be a just another set up year. And now Drake's running contracct is close to running out.

They can not afford to drop games early which are winnable. They are not good enough to recover from it and make the playoffs.
The passing offense was great during the joint practices and that was mostly without Diggs.

At that point the offense has been playing this defense for 2 weeks. The defense knows them well. It’s the same plays, the same calls everyday.

We’ll see how they fair against another team that don’t know them. The Vikings have with Flores a tough defense to play against. Let see how everybody is doing against them.

Don’t forget that usually they runs vanilla plays during the preseason games and use their full offense in the joint practices.

They will be primarily a running team and I’m more than ok with that. As long as Stevenson keeps the ball in his hands this will be a good team. We just need Maye to be patient with his throws and be smart with the ball.

Bourne is gone.

I am fairly confident at this point that the Pats carry 7 WRs:

- Diggs as the WR1
- Pop as the slot specialist
- Boutte as the primary WR2
- Hollins as a blocking specialist and red zone target
- Williams who will do a little bit of everything
- Chism primarily as a punt returner who will sub in for Pop sometimes
- Baker primarily as a special teams gunner who will get limited offensive reps for now
IMO, a #3 punt returner and #3 slot receiver isn't worth a roster spot.

PUNT RETUNERS: Jones. Douglas
SLOT: Douglas, Diggs and others as needed

Too long, then.

If they're not too short, they're too long.

Cut the bum.
and take a $9M cap hit so that we can keep Epps or Pettus? Apparently, you think that one of them is a s valuable as Dugger. NOT

Anyone else thinks the practice jerseys look cleaner than the game day jerseys?

Yup. went and checked Ourlads. Austin Carr in 2017 I think.
Ahh… Carr. What people don’t understand is there is a large supply of these slot prospects. It doesn’t mean they’re good players, it just means they have the tools.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Chism and Restrepo get on in the NFL. Excellent slot skills and quickness but slow as molasses in a straight line. A good test of the slot WR skill set.

This really is the only thing that has been irking me on the offense. Catch the ****ing ball. I dunno why this has been an issue for awhile now.

However, I do believe that Diggs will give these guys some room to finally learn in games. Diggs knows the pressure of being a 1 and can lead the others. They finally have time to learn from a game and not be outright shell shocked the moment things go bad, or thinking they have to be heroes.

Fingers crossed.
