I’ve drank the kool-aid. Just used my Draft Kings rewards bucks on a future for Henderson +1250 season rushing yards.
Wow

Combined pass and rush could be more likely, but good luck.

Walter Payton was 5-10 and his playing weight was around 200LBS. I am definitely excited to see what Henderson will do when the real games start.
Different era. At the start of Payton’s career, Average DLinemen weighed 275 pounds. But make no mistake, Payton was elite when it came to power for his size. You may never see another back like him. He ran past, around and OVER defenders. Watch his highlights, they are unbelievable, the way he just bounced off of defenders and extended his runs. A lot of it was his determination to not get tackled, his heart, and of course physical abilities.

I always say Barry Sanders was the greatest back I’ve ever seen (been watching the NFL since the early 1970s), but Payton was the greatest all around back, and it’s not even close. If Henderson can be half as good as Payton, we will all be thrilled.

Our RB group should be top 10 in the league. Henderson, Stevenson, and Gibson is a three headed monster. All physical, punishing backs who can wear down a defense. Add on Henderson’s breakaway playmaking and it’s looking real good.

How many of those times has their best pass protector been their 3rd down back?
Agreed, but can Hendo’s body withstand the load of a true workhorse? Unless he’s out-running every defender (which he’s actually capable of haha)…

He’s looking like our #1 weapon, but…

But he never had this guy either. Gotta think his (and the other RBs) performance will play a part in how he is used. When you have a game changer you create ways to put him on the field.

Even C.M. is 210 lbs at the same height as Henderson and has sadly been overused. And even if Henderson can add 8 lbs of muscle without loosing any speed, quickness, or agility by bringing his weight to 210 lbs (the same as C.M.), I still would utilize him mostly as a 3rd Down RB/WR/We just get him to where he can do the most damage when we need it type of weapon. At least for his Rookie Season, I'd go with Stevenson and Gibson as the 1st and 2nd Down RB's. I'm not saying that Henderson should never be given the ball on 1st Down, I'm just saying that we should ease him in, at least this Season.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Offense is run through T Henderson. Kind of like how the Eagles Offense is run through Saquan Barkley. That alone limits Maye's bone headed plays. Vrabel and a Elite RB is like chair and butt.

Henderson got beat up being the primary back in college. They brought someone in to take some of that load off his shoulders and he’s been ok since.

Again I would delineate between carries and pass pro. I think he will lead the team in snaps, but I expect them to spread the carries around. They aren’t going to run him like Henry or Barkley.

Assuming you are comparing measurements to CMC? Christian McCafrrey?

Rham and Gibson and even Larison looked pretty good last night too. They’ll all get their fair share of touches.

Also, not meaning to piss in anyone’s wheaties, but that runback of the opening kickoff last night was more the blocking than it was Henderson. I think there are other returners on the team that would’ve taken it to the house given that much green space in front of them.

What I liked most about that play wasn’t Henderson, it was the blocking and how much space he had.

While I always appreciate the little things like blocking, Henderson is what I liked most about that play.

The cuts and acceleration with the ball in a players hands trumps 4.3 speed almost everytime. He may have ran a 4.43 at the combine but seems to play faster.

No reason to run him different than Gibbs in Detroit. Sonic and Knuckles Pats style. No doubt that is what they are thinking.
