Wilkins’ situation is interesting because the Raiders voided his guaranteed money, so it would seem like that approach is off the table, but he’s suing to get it back and seems like a situation he would likely win… So I don’t really know how that would work in the end. Agreed. Having the available cap space at this time is huge. I'm sure he'll have plenty of suitors however I'm hoping that his relationship with Vrabel will be the deciding factor. With a void in leadership at the NFLPA with JC tretter being ousted.. it's to wonder how the NFLPA is going to handle it. I Hope he does come to us.

I would not consider him to be healthy and ready to go.

He is supposedly healthy the injury happened last season. The timeline was a 4-8 week recovery that type of foot injury. it's apparently stemming from the organizations choice and his personal choice to rehab. PUP could mean anything, recovering still, rehabbing still ect. Who knows? Anyhow the idea, if he's healthy is intriguing on strictly a football aspect.

lol that is funny to consider. Since the issue was a divide in the best recovery plan for him, the Patriots signing him and having him healthy and ready to knock the Raiders OL around right on week 1 is probably an attractive proposition to him. It effectively would be proving to them he was right by force.

He might've still been hanging-on to late-2nd-round status by the end of April, but Polk was definitely a prospect on the decline, or at least not on the rise as were others such as his teammate Jalen McMillan... And same as One-If &/or Upstater, I also started reading & hearing about McMillan being mentioned more often as the superior overall WR prospect to Polk when coaches started doing their own evals...

Sure, McConkey worked out, but you are one that should know that DeJean was better pick for us.

DeJean was the BPA and was available AFTER we traded. DeJean plus taking a shot in the 4th on a WR or OL seemed much, much more reasonable than drafting McConkey.

So with a new regime in place under Carroll the organization wanted no drama. Apparently Wilkins is healthy and ready to play. He and Vrabel have a relationship, and Vrabel even saying he would look into it.

Imagine having Wilkins, Barmore, white, Williams up front. Again there's risk with everything.

Last year the front 6/7 played a total of 6749 snaps last year.
Of those.
2933 (43.4%) were played by players no longer here and the following guys played a lot more snaps than it looks like they will this year.
Jennings 831
Tavai. 915
Ellis 513
Pharms. 457

That’s another 2716.
If those guys play half as much as they did last which seems like more than they really will, that’s 64% of the front 7 snaps taken by new players.

This is close to a total overhaul of the front 6, with White being the only guy who played significant snaps last year, likely to again.

I pay more attention to teams actions. What did the raiders do? Cut him. He could have been healthy enough to participate who knows? Idk man just my opinion.

Not sure about others; but I certainly have no issue w checking him out …. ( put him on a plane or better yet; show your interest and send a coach ‘& med SME to him)

If he good to go he can help or is maybe worth it for 2026 or a 2025 playoff push if not healthy yet.
