Seems like he is a lock for the backup position. Given he wasn't here in the Spring, rotating him through the top interior line at this early stage speaks highly of his football skills.

One of the commentators (Bedard?) said that if we see him getting 50% of the snaps at center we know he is a serious candidate to start.

Old guys like Bradbury, Carlton Davis and Morgan Moses get eased into the offseason. They don’t need to learn anything at this point, it’s just a matter of getting conditioned and used to the cadence.

Wilson is 100% to make the 53. The issue is how fast he develops.

I like the way Vrabel is rotating the rookies into the group. A poster who attended camp yesterday said CJ Dippre was getting a lot of run. Rookies seem to be getting a lot of opportunity to show out. These rookie still have to perform but the front office brought a lot of talent in.

It was Evan Lazar reporting that Bradbury was starting and Wilson also taking reps during 1st team.

They play a couple of series with Wilson at Center, then a couple with him at LG, then a couple more with him at RG. He's been nice at all 3 positions even just this early on. We'll see when the pads come on if he continues his upward trajectory.

I think it's more a battle between Bradbury and Strange for who doesn't suck the most, and then Jared Wilson steps in for the loser.

It's really too early to know. They haven't even put pads on yet.

But I think your scenario would be more likely if this were a veteran line.

In the current situation I believe they want to establish leadership and new culture, rather than lean on versatility.

Wilson is good that he can instantly he should be a starter at LG, C or RG, whichever is available? That is lot to put on a rookie. Personally, I don't that is the way to develop a long-term starter and future all-pro candidate.

I agree that he should be able to play all of the IOL spots. That makes him a valuable Game Day backup. Personally, I would prefer that he developed to be a starter at one position. The team has a lot to learn about Strange, Bradbury and Sow.

It's a bit odd that Vrabel ran Andrews off for being old and losing a step... because Bradbury is the exact replica.
Same undersized but smart vet, not super consistent of late, overmatched by big DT's inside.
I know everyone is drooling over Wilson. But seriously, Ben Brown would be a more trustworthy C if Bradbury can't hold up. He has 10 games with Maye, and wasn't bad. He wasn't great, but I'd trust him more than a 1yr college starter in Wilson.
All to say, I hope Bradbury picks it up and is solid all year. But if they can slide Brown onto the PS, that is great assurance. Cause clearly they're rostering Wilson, and hopefully he can develop quickly and be a backup at G too.

I think it's as simple as bringing in their own younger people, while having the flexibility of moving on from veterans without drama.

It would have been tough benching/cutting a leader like Andrews once camp began.

They really want neither to hold the job longer term.

If Ben Brown were to clearly win the job, which I doubt, then good for him.

3rd round picks start all the time on the OL

OL need to learn the assignments of the man next to them. Why would working at all 3 IOL spots be a burden?

What do you think is the way to develop a long term starter have the sit in the bench and waive to the crowd?Football players develop by playing football.

Hie do we have 3 experienced IOL backups? We have none that don’t suck. That’s why Wilson is the 4th IOL. If I understand you correctly you seem to be saying he should back up all 3 but not play if someone gets hurt? How does that make sense?

Bradbury is a former 1st round pick who has started over 80 NFL games.
He had a lot of football left in him. Andrews was injured and then retired.
Brien stinks. He was signed off a practice squad because he wasn’t good enough to be on any other teams 53, and starter for us because our OL sucked. He played awful, and doesn’t belong in a 53 man roster.
