Trade Candidates

Who wants to trade Gonzo?
But you said the Pats have no good players?
Answer this one Ozzy.
Kyle Dugger, Mike Onwenu, Jabril Peppers, Antonio Gibson, Cole Strange, Sidy Sow, Anfernee Jennings, Kendrick Bourne, Boutte, Mapu…. all great or at least good…all mentioned as trade bait.
Why spend the 38th pick on a RB when your boy Stevenson is only 27 with a new contract?
Why have a big bruiser in LaGarrette Blount and a small speed back in Dion Lewis?

One RB isn’t enough and football is about matchups.

Vrabel pretty much called him RB1. They obviously love Trey based on where they took him and comments during OTAs. I haven't heard much about Robinson from the new staff probably not worth it to read into that too much other than to point out they like Rham and not to disparage Robinson but Robinson seems to be RB2 with highly drafted rookie hot on his trail.

Who is Robinson?

You apparently have a much higher opinion of Lowe than I do. I don’t believe he’s capable of overcoming his athletic limitations. He’s not good enough to be a back up LT in the NFL. I definitely think they should be looking high and low to replace him. To put it bluntly, I think he sucks.
I'm 1000% fine with the team upgrading Lowe by signing or trading for an upgrade to Lowe.

However, LT's are hard to find. In any case, I don't think that a 7th rounder will beat him out.

Second That Emotions must have been playing. I meant Gibson.
Same here... I was scratching my head..WhoTF is Robinson... Heard of some trayveon Williams .. but Robinson..

Whenever I start to think I'm smart I remind myself I can't even remember a name.

Strange and Sow are great or at least good. Hmm.

I always liked your music with Black Sabbath.

You sure did party.

The Pats spent a 2nd round pick for a RB. There were plenty of bigger needs.

If Stevenson has the job locked down then there is no reason to take a RB that early because it would not have been a position of need. Stevenson just go a new contract. So, why take Henderson?

I know why. Henderson is younger, less expensive, and he was a greater threat in the pass game at OSU. He is rumored to be the best blocking RB in this last draft. IF Henderson steps in and does what Stevenson does and is even better, why keep Stevenson? Trade him for the highest pick and save cap money.

The Pats did not use a 2nd round pick for a change of pace RB.
Rham is 6'0 246lbs, Henderson is 5'10 207. Those are not the same player that are going to be asked to do the same things. Hate to burst your bubble but McDaniels has made it very clear in the past he values pass blocking change of pace 3rd down back whatever you want to call it highly. Shane Verren 2nd round pick, Sony Micheal 1st round pick. Henderson is going to be the next in line in the profile of Faulk, Verren, White and those guys are all very much worth a 2nd round pick and clearly McDaniels found it to be a huge need.

On Hollins.. We should note that he hasn't participated in OTAs as he's been dealing with some type of undisclosed issue.

if this is something that continues throughout camp it may come down to Chism being on the 53 or Hollins.. just my assumption.
Twin: Boutte - Williams and Chism are all already making Hollins expendable. IF Polk and Baker can't do the same doom on them.

Twin, I agree and our cousins @Zuma and @signbabybrady would also. He has been present but hasn't participated in the drills or passing camp. I get he's here for his leadership and veteran presence.. but we have Stef and Henry that are that.

I honestly think it's going to come down to:

Stef being ready to start week 1
Boutte, Chism are going to make the 53 over Polk and baker.

When your opinion is “everyone is bad” it’s hard to be nuanced or objective.

Polk and Baker have a TC to make people in wheelchairs stand up.

I see practice squad in their future. I know we have a ways to go and anything can happen... but the talent level is much better than last year.. I will go as far as saying I believe Kyle Williams is a starter.

Maybe he stubbed his toe...

That doesn't make the answer as a starter to be a raw rookie that no one wanted for 7 rounds.
True, but the starter Chism need to replace is who was selected in bottom half of the 6th round.

A month ago, I would have thought Hollins is a lock. But it's worth paying attention that he hasn't participated in OTA and or mini camp.

Taylor Keyes mentioned he's dealing with something.. wouldn't be surprised if it's still the shoulder he injured it late last season. Probably still a factor. If he's not ready I see him on pup or short term IR to start the season. Or depending on the severity Vrabel may just decide to cut him and resign once fully healthy in order to make a roster spot for say a player like chism. This is just my opinion.

Agreed, but Douglas has 2 years of experience in the slot, developing fairly well.
Agreed POP is the starting slot. I expect him to have near 100 catches this season.
