DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION Official 2025 Draft Day Thread: Day Three

From the prospects to draft on day three thread. I love this about Woodson

Cal Safety Craig Woodson is another favourite of mine. In the past four years, only four safeties have had a pass defense grade and run defense grade of above 85 in the same season. One is Kevin Winston who went yesterday, one is Brian Branch and then there's Caleb Downs who is talked of as being the best defensive player in CFB. The fourth is Craig Woodson.

He's got a good last name for DB so there's that. I don't want to draft anymore DBs with first names as last names, like Richards, Roberts, Thomas, Wilson, Williams, Andrews. No hyphenation first names either please.

3 5’s, so plenty of time to snag some more value today.
Agreed, but now we have to sit through the remainder of this 4th round and watch all the good players fly off the board.

A safety.... they have like 6 safeties who could start now.

Eh. He may turn into an okay player, but I liked the edge rushers and defensive tackles better at this point in the draft. Let's hope he's McCourty 2.0 back there.

I like this quote from Jeremiah:

“He plays in the deep half," said Daniel Jeremiah of Woodson on a conference call prior to the NFL combine. "He can play downhill. He can open. He’s a smooth mover. He’s got speed. He’s a firm tackler, and he’s really, really smart. Talking to the folks at Cal, they rave about his intelligence and leadership."

How is Sawyer still available?
Feels like there's something we don't know going on there

The Bills really hammering that DL

Sure sounds like a reach.

It’s kind of amazing. I feel like I’m doing something wrong, having fun being a fan

Yep. Enjoying what they are doing makes you a fanboy.

“ He’s not an All Pro ( at #184). Meh.

Jets drafted a fast guy who couldn’t catch a cold. Nice. That dude lost people (myself included) money last year.

His hands need work, but he's fast and gets open. Still need to defend him on the field in case he actually hangs on to the pass. Not a terrible player, just inconsistent.
