Draft day 2: reset

I said it before and will say it again... I hope we are not the Team that selects Jayden Higgins in the Second Round. Draft anybody else but: I got a bad feeling about him for us. I like his Teammate Noel a lot better.

Hahahahahaha. With the total trash and foolishness you have been posting leading up to this draft, you really think anyone thinks your opinion is credible? Hahahahahahaha

Cleveland with 2 of the first 4 picks in round two will not be picking QB here. By acquiring the Jags 1 next year they have kicked the idea of a franchise QB to next year. They need offensive players especially at the skill positions and their offensive line is getting old. Any of WR, RB, and OL are the picks. TreVeyon Henderson seems to be a perfect fit as does their receiver of choice (maybe Burden or Higgins) . Ersery is a possible at OT or they could wait for the third and consider Trapilo. They have two thirds.

They would take an offer for 33 if it included another 2026 first.

I understand why people would think that but I'm betting the Patriots are in a desperation mode
Not with Scourton and Ezeiruaku on the board. I'd add Bradyn Swinson too but the Pats haven't shown much interest there.

Emmanwori is a baller, if he's there you just don't pass him up. That's the kind of player worth adjusting the rest of the Pats draft around. I'm genuinely surprised Baltimore went with Starks over him
It would make sense to pick him up if the consensus he is a game changer.

If Dugger has an average year, he'll be 30 and represent a $8m cap savings in 2026 if hes cut.

Peppers aves them $2.5m after June 1.

I have written about LSU TE Mason Taylor numerous times. They can get two WR's later in the draft. Taylor turns 21 next month. His 129 receptions and 1,308 yards in just three seasons, are the most in LSU history for the position. The Patriots have two 30, soon to be 31-year-old TE's. Can we expect both of them to make it through the season clean and healthy? Taylor is also a willing blocker and looked good on the blocking sled drill at the combine and pumped 28 reps of 225#'s on the Bench Press. His Gauntlet Drill at the Combine was near perfection. This is the guy that I would be "Pounding the Table" for if I was in the draft room.
Even if Hooper and Henry do stay healthy, neither is anything special. Hooper signed a 1 year deal and would be gone next year if they got a good, young TE. Henry will probably be off the team or declined to a point we're all hoping he's passed on the depth chart so he can be TE2 by the end of the 2 years left on his deal.

The TE depth chart is good enough that there's no pressure to draft one, but it's not so good that they should pass up on one that they love if they share your enthusiasm for Taylor. If they think he's going to be a high end starter and they can't say the same for someone at another position like WR/EDGE where there's a more pressing immediate need, then take him.

We're probably kidding ourselves thinking about it. What are the chances he lasts to 38?

This is the day I've been looking forward to the most. There is such good depth on day two, it's going to be really hard to screw up our picks. There's a real opportunity to get three future starters or impact role players today.

Yes- solid, develomental OL prospects that have a chance to start are a need...but as of right now not the highest of priorities.
If Strange is a Center who's our starting LG?

Agreed, there's a lot of meat left on the bone today. The idea of coming away with 3 legit impact players is not a stretch.

You have a bunch of IOL on the roster already.

If they all suck, well you are badly screwed regardless.

But it is mindless to expend badly needed resources on a position you are fully stocked at.

If you just spent a #1 (Strange), #3 (Wallace), #4 (Robinson), #4 (Sow), #4 (Andrews), #5 (Mafi), #6 (Hines), and none of these guys worked out, you're just DEAD. Finished. Finito. And you signed some free agents as well. We're talking about 2 positions here and you have 8 guys.

Meanwhile you don't have LBs and FSs and edge rushers and WRs and a big DT.
Fair enough we do have other needs. Other needs and past failures doesn't mean OL isn't still a need though. I want WR or defense at 38 but I'll be happy to get another OL somewhere along the way today or tomorrow.

Wolf said they were drafting for need. If you are implying Wolf is dumber than a box of rocks, I agree.

Actually I think you got that wrong, he said they weren’t drafting for need, that they had been mistaken to do that last year, except for Maye.

No, we don't (feel compelled to draft for need). The best player available is going to be the way it is," he said, via Karen Guregian of MassLive. "Maybe we went for need a little bit too much last year. Obviously that culminated in us drafting Drake Maye, so it wasn't all bad.Mar

Yea. All the teams picking ahead of us could certainly use help at FS/SS

Hey. Be nice to his High Holiness of the WR Cult. He cannot help himself. He has a slew of followers in his Cult of Vertical Route-ness. (I just made that last part up)

I am not a true believer, but I do enjoy pushing his buttons. Please do not dissuade him from tending to his flock. They need him.

Why is Scourton dropping?

All the mocks I've seen today have him bottom of 2nd round

I said that Wolf said they were drafting for need last year when they picked Polk. You quote Wolf saying that they went for need a little bit too much last year, which supports my statement. What did I get wrong?

We need tackles, that's for sure. We don't know if Campbell can handle that LT position and Moses is a short-termer.

I am not against taking OL, I am against taking centers and guards.

You were probably responding to a post about last year, but all your quote said was that they were drafting for need, and nothing about last year.
