Draft day 2: reset

No we really don’t. We just drafted Wallace in rounds 3. It would be insane to use a 2 on a guy who won’t see the field just because you want him to beat our last years 3 for a backup spot.
We have much greater need elsewhere like WR, EDGE, RB, DL, CB, LB
Wallace might be Lowe and Jacobs all over again. Do you want us get to that guy?? Injuries happen in this game.

If New England doesn't trade the pick and Trapilo is still there at 77 I'd be surprised if they don't take him. He can play G or T on either side, making him hard to pass up.

7 of the 10 haven’t demonstrated they belong in the NFL and the most promising is a T you incorrectly listed as a IOL.
This is a day 3 need IMO but still a need. Being able to list a lot of guys who suck at the position doesn’t mean you are in good shape.
I think we should spend the second round draft capital on the best available Offensive Tackle. We can get the BPA WR in the Third.

The Pats currently have a good number of offensive lineman and wide receivers on the roster. That doesn't mean the players currently on the roster are good. If we see an upgrade available at WR or OL what is currently on the roster shouldn't stop the Pats from doing so. However, I don't think those positions are the biggest needs.

Personally, I think a defensive lineman (either edge or DT) is best target at 38. Pats don't have quality depth at DT or DE. To me there is a huge need at edge. I'm not sure Keion White is the answer as a starter at edge (he seems to be best rushing from the interrior), so the guy they pick at 38 could end up being the starter opposite Landry.

We don't.

We have starters at both T positions and backups.
Back-ups who??

So might whoever you draft.
You can’t play that game. You can’t ignore more pressing needs because you want a rookie in case your second year guy doesn’t develop to fill a backup position.
You seem to think the guy on the roster is doomed and the guy you draft is guaranteed to be a stud.

WR needs a starter. Corner needs a primary backup. Edge needs a “starter” in sub. RB needs a “starter” 3rd down. G has worse starters and worse depth than T. DL needs a rotational guy who plays snaps every week.
T is low on the list and seemingly only on your list because you want to knock the Wallace pick

As of this moment, with Dugger, Peppers, and Mapu we have a logjam at SS.

We need a pure FS badly.
I have no idea if he's a SS or a FS, I just know he's a 6'3" DB with freakish ability.

How many draft picks will we spend on OL.....crazyIII Please no ore OL in round 2
Get best available offensive playmaker to help Maye.

Preferably a quick change of pace back like Trevyon Henderson (I think he will be gone) or Noel or Burden.

Focus on offense here and get someone who can make plays and has speed.
This team desperately needs zip and speed

Round 3 how about a big fat DT who can stop the run or future TE prospect?

Wallace and Lowe.
If you believe that there is a strong change someone drafted in the upcoming rounds could be the long term answer at OT, then neither of those guys should stop you from drafting a long term starter at the position.

Agree. Hes more of a SS but as you say he is a sick athlete.

Part of me thinks Peppers is not long for this world.

I think he's in play before then. I read the Eagles want him at #64. I think you have to trade back up to the end of R2 if you want him. Supposedly the Eagles have been spending a lot of time at BC, much like the Pats, and their interest is real. Pick #77 and next year's R2 should get it done.

Not if you already have starters penciled in for the next 2 years.

This team has serious needs across the board.

At this point grooming a future starter at RT is a luxury.

Why are people forgetting about Wallace as a future RT?

You just did that last year with Wallace and now you toss him out because he was injured?
If T were the only position on the field I would agree draft every one you think can play but there are many other positions and a lot of them are a bigger need than T and there are guys at those positions that can be long term answers.

It's a little aggressive to assume that Moses will be starter for the next two years. Wallace wasn't very good when he played. So right tackle is a veteran lineman near the end of his career and a player that was behind Jacobs before Wallace got hurt last season. With how bad the offensive line was last year I'd prefer them to err on the side of caution, drafting more lineman to make sure the problem is more likely to be solved long term.

Nick Emmanawori. Dude is gonna be a game changer. I know you guys all want WRs, me too. I thought he’d go R1. Can’t pass if he’s there at 38.

Scourton too. Gonna be interesting.

Check out his spider chart. Wow!
