The two are not mutually exclusive IMO. You need a LT better than Lowe, long term. Campbell is LT, whether or not he's a guard or not in the NFL isn't really the issue. He's on the list of top OL with Banks, Simmons, Conerly and Ersery, and maybe further down the list, you've got Grant and Trapilo. It just depends on who they have ranked at #4 on the big board. I am with you on BPA, but there's no glaring BPA at #4 under most scenarios. They gotta be ready to pick someone.
What we can be assured of is that there gonna be people pissed no matter what they do, because there's no consensus blue chipper who's gonna be at #4.
I dunno about you, but I expect a GDT type of thread Thursday night that's gonna be brutal. I am really going to try holding out on passing judgement until the draft is done and we can see what it looks like as a whole. No sense being pissed off they don't take a LT in R1 if they get Trapilo and Grant later on on day 2 and/or day 3. (prob not day 3, LT is gonna get over-drafted)
What I have been saying all off-season is there's no guarantee they can trade down and no guarantee there's a ransom to be paid even if they do find a dance partner. We saw last year, there's no guarantee they can get back in at 19-20 range to get their guy, either. If they can find a trade partner and drop, then they gotta be ready to pick at that spot, and they gotta be ready to then get their guy at #38. If they can get back in R1, awesome, but too many of us just wave a wand and say just trade back in. Ain't that easy to move up and down the draft.
