No. AJ Brown has peaked, we should take Carter for ourselves if he is there

AJ Brown is only 27 years old, and an All Pro caliber receiver, I would take him over Carter every time.

It’s always hard to gauge the veracity of the reports, but it sure would be a good thing for the Patriots.

It's not hard to gauge that report about Brown as complete BS. Trading Brown would cost the Eagles an additions 42M in cap space. Space they don't have and have no ability to create because only 2 players on the team have a salary of 2M or more currently. Ojulari ($2M) and Cam Jurgens (5.346M).

I say no, that's not nearly enough return for that. At 32, there's a risk there will be no tackles left to take. And a pick in the low 60s next year isn't enough return to drop 28 spots, that's crazy. AJ Brown is a great player, but he's 28 and we'd be taking on a **** ton of salary.

I'd certainly do the deal, but that's not even in shouting distance of enough return for that. It would have to be 32, a Day 2 pick *this* year, and a first next year, before I'd seriously consider it. Right now, the deal is basically trading the #4 overall pick in the draft, for a 2nd this year, a 2nd next year, and AJ Brown. Assuming Brown himself is worth a 2nd round pick current year (which is what he'd get on the open market), a 2nd round pick next year isn't close to enough return. You could get 21 from Pittsburgh for @PatsFan2 's boy George Pickens, and get more than a 2nd next year. And Pickens is 24 and cost-controlled for 3 years.

The way I read it was AJ Brown, the 32, and a 2nd round pick next year. I think that’s really fair return when you are getting a 27 year old receiver of that caliber.

Me either, but my point is, he's not going to be 28 in 2 months, and isn't on the hook for like 90 million over the next 5 years.

This is moving from 4 to 32 for basically a 2nd this year (Brown) and a 2nd next year, which will be in the 60s, most likely. It's just not enough.

I see it a little different. I think Brown is a high quality player in his prime, and essentially a proven first round pick, and the 32 literally is a first round pick, and the 2nd next year is a good, but not great pick. And if they had Brown and Diggs it would shore up receiver for the next 2-3 years, and free them to focus on their other areas of need. So I would make the deal, and then continue to build, but with the team at a higher level than we expected heading into 25’.

100% true. Raiders are not trading away their starting LT. Why woukd they? He has already shown he can play.
They will pay him.

I don't know about the rest of the NFL, but we've drafted 5 first round qbs since '71... Maye, Jones, Bledsoe, Eason & Plunkett
