HOF LT Joe Thomas was on Cleveland radio this morning and was asked about the Will Cambell arm measurement. He scoffed at it and said arm measurement is something to bring up whe you don't have other bad things to say. He said the arm measurements are weird and that long or short fingers can make a difference in the measurement, but not in punching ability. A big length difference might help "if it's 10 inches or something" (if I remember right) but other things matter much more.

I will post a link if I can find one of that segment.

Will add this in a couple threads since it is a pretty expert view from a thoughtful ex-player.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lowe is the starting LT protecting Maye on opening day.

I can see it happening as well and I wouldn't be that upset as long as they can improve other areas of the team

I think he’ll be the pick, I’m ok with it.

Last game of the 2024 season really ****ed the Pats over. Well orchestrated by the Bills and Mayo. The Bills did everything they could to lose the game to a 3rd string QB, they didn’t want the Pats to get Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter.

This class is just not that good outside of Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter, and Ashton Jeanty, and it doesn't seem likely we will be able to get the first two. I also don't think Jeanty is the right pick here.

I'm honestly fine if Vrabel/Wolfe thinks Will Campbell is the pick here. There are no perfect prospects after the abovementioned three. Will Campbell is at least athletic enough despite the arm-length concerns. I would also be fine if they pick Graham, Walker, and Membou.

How do Wolf and Groh still have jobs?
I assume that they were using a Belichick based system where coachability ranked higher than something like RAS. We've heard a lot about the new scoring system, and that should show itself in a couple weeks during the draft. I have no idea what the scoring looked like, but it certainly appeared that the system was based on Belichick's desires, for lack of a better word. He would take the word of his football contacts in college to a very high level, perhaps even over his own scouts. Now we have this new system that Wolf supposedly has in place, plus you have the "influence" of Vrabel, Cowden and Stretch. I would assume that things will look drastically different on draft day.

McConkey is pretty coachable. Blaming that trade on BB, too, Steve?

Kinda.

There had to be something in their scoring that made it so they felt they could pass on him and get Polk later. Perhaps they had them both on the same tier, maybe Polk checked a different box. (not the "this guy sucks" box) than McConkey did. Regardless, all that was done on the old system. I do think at some point they took Baker as a "don't be like Bill" pick, but he was later. The McConkey thing is a huge eff up, to be sure. I don't think Wolf's going to be making any of the picks.

I do think there's a loyalty thing that Kraft has for Wolf too, and that keeps him in Foxboro.

Things will definitely look different on draft day because the 2024 draft was a complete and total disaster. Maybe the worse draft in 20+ years. So things will be different in the 2025 draft - no doubt.

Will things be different due to a new scoring system? You can believe that - I don't. That is media rubbish. The media leaks like to explain the failure. Who leaks? The people who failed. Previously the failures were due to "Belichick's desires". Now the failures are due to "the scoring system". At what point do we think the failures are due to the guys in charge, Wolf and Groh? I am past the point of believing the leaks. You can believe the leaks - have at it.

I was sooooooooooooooo pissed when they did not draft DeJean. I liked Polk but not where they drafted him. I liked McConkey as well, but was alright that they passed on him. They broke my heart when they did not draft Cooper and it took me awhile to recover. He my top binky. I am getting sad all over again.

I've heard some speculation that based on some of Vrabel's commentary that they think he is out on Campbell at 4. Who knows.

Where do you see that?

The things I've seen seem to lean towards Campbell being the obvious preference. Maybe I haven't seen the same things.

What's that I smell? Oh yes it's ******** season in the NFL
