2025 LT

Interesting from Field Yates:

Yates: The number of evaluators who are unbothered by Will Campbell's arm length really stands out to me. I was hard pressed to find an exec or coach who doesn't view LSU's Campbell as the best tackle of this class, and those same people told me his length wasn't a concern on tape. I'm not ignoring his 32 ⅝-inch arm length from the combine, but most people I talked to are bullish on Campbell becoming a really good left tackle. He has excellent footwork, balance and body control to hold up as a pass protector.

I think you're right. If I was GM, I like the idea of drafting Trapilo or Charles Grant in the 3rd - if they make it that far.
If we still felt the need, I think that we would draft one of these in the 2nd after a move down.

Maybe. There are a lot of good receivers in the 2nd as well as the likes of Treveyon Henderson and Nic Scourton potentially.

I also expect Trapilo, Belton, and Grant to be gone by the time #69 comes up.
The nightmare but realistic scenario. That’s why Wolfie goes all in on a bona fide LT with our fist pick. Is he hesitant on the scenario of moving Membou to the left because of the disappointment of Caedan Wallace last year? And Chuks Okorafor?

Probably.

Trading back in the first with the Vikings at 24 with the 38 and 71 picks is the other option. They have only a total of four picks.

Will Josh Simmons be there? Will his injury ultimately be a non factor?

Sounds as if trading back with a team like the Saints, taking Will Campbell at 9 might be a good choice. They may covet Jeanty.

Then trading back up to #24 to get Josh Simmons might be the road map.

That might bring back memories of Leon Gray-John Hannah on the left side.

That would make for an OL with a lot of promise. Finally.

Just a contrarian thought. WVU’s dominant, experienced LT, Wyatt Milum—with Will Campbellesque tape—is a no-go at LT because of his 32 1/4 inch arms. But Campbell, with arms measured a half inch longer at the Combine, is going to do just fine? Can half an inch make a difference?

I ain’t smart enough to figure this out. Can someone explain?

Let's not forget the wingspan

A fair point. I'd say that Milum stank it up a bit at the Senior Bowl which maybe factors in there.

Will Campbell started all 38 of his LSU games. What do they say is the best ability? It begins with ‘ avail’.

Billions of dollars at play here and they haven’t figured this **** out yet? Is the length/span disqualifying or not? Freaking joke.

I like the idea of taking Will Campbell at 4. But then drafting Charles Grant later, like at 106.

So next season the former Tiger is LT1 and former wrestler Grant with the better length gets developed. We have an excellent OL coach now. Finally.

But the goal is to make Grant LT1 and kick Campbell the LG. Suddenly the left side could. COULD be special.

If Campbell does well at LT I don't think you just kick him inside and I am not believer that he can just slide into LG and be a pro bowler.
