The fan vote has begun...

** Cast Your Vote Here ** --> 2025 Patriots Hall of Fame Ballot

The Three Finalists are WR Julian Edelman, G Logan Mankins & K Adam Vinatieri

Simple Question is: Who ya got...
Slightly Harder Question: Why...

Please, Opine, if you care to share...

and yeah, I left RLKAG off on purpose.

from the Pats website...
"The New England Patriots revealed two new names among this year's nominations for hall of fame consideration, as recently eligible candidates Julian Edelman and Adam Vinatieri join third-time finalist Logan Mankins. Mankins was also a finalist in 2022 and 2023.

Starting today, Patriots fans are encouraged to vote for the Patriots finalist most deserving of Patriots Hall of Fame induction. Fans can vote on the Patriots website www.patriots.com/hof through midnight EDT on Wednesday, April 30. The team will announce the fans' selection later that week.

This year's inductee will join Bill Parcells, who was named as a contributor to the Patriots Hall of Fame by Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft during a media session on April 1 at the annual league meetings in Palm Beach, Fla. Parcells became the 36th person to be named to the Patriots Hall of Fame. The date and time of this year's ceremony will be announced once confirmed with the two inductees.

Edelman

Mankins

Vinatieri

Two team legends plus the 2nd best guard in team history.

Just by saying legends for the other two, I instantly eliminated Mankins. Another year he might get in.

Edelman was a SB MVP, had a historic clutch catch for the ages in another SB, and another clutch grab and GWTD in another Super Bowl. Vinatieri won two SB with late kicks, and made the greatest most clutch kick in team history against the Raiders.

Edelman was a Patriot lifer who connected with the fans. Vinatieri played here 10 years and then joined our archrivals.

Winner: Edelman.

Very tough. Edelman is a Pats legend and a key member of 3 championships. Vinatieri is the best clutch kicker in league history, will be a NFL HOFer, and was a key to the start of the Dynasty.

Flip a coin. Both are worthy.

Edelman but in no way is that a slight to Adam V. I will probably vote for him next season, both are so deserving and the thing that has me choosing Edelman is he spent his whole career here.

im actually a little bit shocked by the early returns to be honest...

It's Edelman for me. I think he had as big of clutch moments as Vinatieri did in the playoffs, Vinatieri's just seem bigger because they won games. Also Vinatieri isn't even the best Kicker statistically in the history of the franchise. Ghost is the leader for all-time points and he was 88% in his career for the team (reg. season & playoffs). Vinatieri was 78%. Vinatieri also had a stinker in the SB against the Panthers where he missed 2 chip shots (31 & 36) in a dome which had he made them he wouldn't have needed to kick the GW.

There is also the whole thing of Vinatieri playing for the colts longer than he played for the Pats while Edelman played his whole career with the Pats.

So I think Edelman deserves 1st ballot Pats HOF

Two SB winning kicks.
Snow Bowl tying kick and game winning kick.

There is no conflict.

Jules gets in, but Adam's first in my book. Who knows what happens if he misses either kick in the snow.

EDIT: you guys that pick Jules aren't wrong. Just my preference this time. 100% Jules deserves a red jacket.

My prediction is that Edelman will win.

First there is the recency effect.
Secondly he is the only one of the three to play his entire career with the Patriots.

At one time Adam would have been a first ballot shoo-in, but not now due to Jules in the 28-3 game.

Mankins is going to have a much more difficult time getting in, due to people remembering him more for a not so great game in the loss to the Giants (even though he was playing with torn knee ligaments), than all the rest of his career. Forcing a trade at the end of his career doesn't help either.

To me Vinatieri is more deserving, but Jules will win this fan vote.

Edelman and AdamV have iconic moments for championship teams. Edelman played a more important position and was a lifer so he gets the nod.

Mankins should get in eventually but it’s probably going to be a while because he plays a boring position and didn’t win a ring. I’m pretty sure they’re through all the first dynasty era inductees besides Adam V who will get in eventually, but lots of guys from the second dynasty run that will get in before Mankins (Edelman, Gronk, Hightower, McCourty, James White, maybe Chung or Malcom Butler, Mayo if his coaching tenure wasn’t a disaster).

I won’t be disappointed either way because most likely the one who doesn’t get in will get in next year unless it’s Gronks first year of eligibility.

How much do people really remember the Giants losses for Mankins? Not sure people really remember specific OL like that. Eventually we’ll run out of great candidates and he’ll get in one year where there’s no one more popular over him just on a strength of the pro bowls and all pros.

Gonna start getting a log jam, Jules, Adam, Gronk, Dev McCourty, Dont'a, Bill, Wes, maybe Randy. There's guys with 3 rings out there that won't sniff a red jacket. Shaq Mason... Vollmer. Branch has two rings. What a great run. Three rings? Sorry, you aren't that guy.

And don't forget Slater.

I think that all 3 will get in at some point (as will Slater). I suspect that they'll put Vinatieri in first. That being said, if it were up to me I'd put Edelman in first.
