I posted this in the draft forum but am sharing it here as you don't all pay us a visit. You may find it useful.
-------------------------
An updated attempt to try to deduce some kind of order from the draft contacts. We know of 13 visits so there are 17 that can still be added.
I realise that the contact list is not the be all and end all. Last year we drafted four from it I believe and two of those were the QBs, and I also realise it's probably an incomplete list - we can only go on what the draft media lets us know about. However I do think it's useful in providing a gauge of the type of prospects we're looking at and the range in which we're looking.
1. No clarity at 4. Interesting that Jalon Walker isn't on the list yet.
2. LT won't be taken any later than 38 with a trade up from 38 possible if not taken at 4. No surprise here.
3. If we trade down, a pass rusher is a possibility with our first pick.
4. No Egbuka or Burden on the list is interesting. I can see Egbuka being clean enough that he wouldn't need a visit but Burden? Perhaps we met with him at the Missouri pro day where we sent one of our FO big wigs (I don't remember which one).
5. Back to pass rusher. One before the end of round three is a distinct possibility. There doesn't seem to be any real interest in one after round 3.
6. Probably the biggest signal is that we're looking at adding a speed WR somewhere from round 3 onwards.
7. Possible interest in a round two X receiver (Jayden Higgins and Tre Harris). No Ayomanor yet though.
8. Almost zero interest in guards, with a little interest in late round centers.
9. A speed RB from round 3 onwards. A lightning to Rhamondre's thunder. Treveyon Henderson would have to be under consideration here too I would think. The fact that they've met with them all except Henderson is, ironically, why I have Henderson pencilled in to the 38 pick.
10. No QBs other than two UDFAs. This might change now that Milton has been traded.
11. Josh Simmons is the only Ohio State prospect on the list which was, presumably, a medical check. Vrabel was at the Ohio State pro day but maybe they're trying to hide their interest in Ohio State prospects.
12. There's been no reported interest in TEs since the combine.
13. A late round run stuffing DT. Other than Mason Graham and Joshua Farmer, that's all we've met with since the combine (ie pre free-agency)
14. Almost zero interest in safeties. Some interest in day three cornerbacks.
