Silkema just did a post free agency mock on PFF, and he had the Patriots trade back with the Bears for the #41, then had them taking Campbell at #10. Membou, Banks, and Simmons were all still on the board. By the Draftek value chart the 38 is worth 520, and the 41 is worth 490. Combined this brings them enough draft capitol to go up to Atlanta at the 16 spot, which gives them what they would need to get Mathew Golden, or a second offensive lineman if they decided to just bulk up the OL as much as possible.
Yeah. I could see them going that route. I don’t think OT and WR are written in stone for the top picks either (though more likely OT since they have fewer possible stopgaps).

My recollection is that Vrabel wasn’t in charge of the drafts in TN, so we don’t know how he is at working the trades.

Honestly for what he’d be fetching salary wise it wouldn’t suck to bring him in.

Hes a solid hand and the team needs some veterans on that side of the ball.

The Patriots are hosting workouts for some previous all pros.

True, but he also brought in Cowden and Streicher to bolster their front office, and both come highly regarded.

Cowden is a highly regarded evaluator. Stretch is a jack of all trades. I think the deals you’re (and a lot of people are) talking about require some skill at wheeling and dealing. It’ll be interesting if we’ve gotten better at that from last year.

This is excellent.

Tell me, oh grand wizard… where are you getting these 5 studs ?
Cap space we had that cap to go 6 or 7 million more a year on top O line talent.
Even if it’s no A level if we have to overpay to protect Drake so be it.
WRs, I would have traded for Metcalf, roll the dice he buys in too much talent not to take the risk.
I would offer number 4 to Detroit for Jameson Williams and a second or third.
Or take that same offer to the Dolphins for Waddle,
Or Eagles for AJ Brown.
Or I would offer the second or third rounder for Michael Pittman, or Jaylen Reed.
Or trade 4 outright to the Jets for Garret Wilson.

So … no plan for tackle… and everything is subject to someone answering the phone.

And you traded #4 to the dolphins, eagles, and Detroit. That’s amazing.

I’m saying one of them.
What about the other 3 wideouts ? And the tackle?

You suck at the gm job. Traded #4 three times every gm in the league’s gonna hate you.

I gave different scenarios where in my hypothetical we used 4 to get Maye top proven, explosive weapon.

But you said you’d acquire “a franchise LT and 4 top WRs”… so where are the other 4 players besides this one WR coming from?
