Stefon Diggs visiting Patriots

This is actually surprising.

Maybe Vrabel and Diggs can come to an understanding. You get an incentive laden deal and if you start your ******** then you’ll never see that money. But if you can be a team player then you will be our legitimate WR1, you’ll rack up very nice stats and be rewarded for it.

The offense they ran in Houston the last couple years has some similarities to what McDaniels runs (his brother is the WRs coach there, so Diggs may already know Josh) and he’s probably a good fit from that perspective. He actually looked very good last year before he got hurt. He stepped right in for Nico Collins which is no small feat.

Talk me off the ledge. I hate this player.

To your point we have a couple of WRs who have passively implied (Pop) they don't get the ball enough. But they are middling.

I have no issue with WRs pleading their case to the OC and QB. That's fine. However it needs to be done constructively and within the offensive plan.

Check out some of the YouTubes of Diggs losing his ****. That's just not something I can get behind..

If he can be a bit more controlled, sign me up

Diggs would not be a long term answer.

I would expect there would at least be a one year honeymoon period. Diggs hasn't been a constant problem over his career.

Plus I view that fire inside him as a short term plus. The young receivers are far too passive.

Look at the positive. Diggs might wake this group up.

The guys a technician at running routes, excellent hands, feet, can use his body to out leverage DBs..
I just hope he still has the route running abilities, coming off a torn ACL is a big deal.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Diggs is using NE to get his name out there trying to generate some buzz.

He may be coming off an ACL injury, but he would still be the best WR on our roster. Give him a 2 year deal that is heavy on incentives. Hell, lets make it an ACL WR corps, get Aiyuk too.

You like to put words in peoples mouths to support your arguments don't you. I have never said anything about Polk, so far he is nothing more than a jag that we hope can be something other than a waste of space.

If the Pats take Diggs I hope he fits in and I hope he looks something like his former self. I have reservations about him and what he will be able to do, but if he joins the Pats I hope its a good decision.
Polk is what you have. If you don’t want better players for other reasons you get Polk

Nothing against guys who have that chip - I think it’s good too and I think Vrabel values that. The issue is when it goes overboard and a player’s personal goals are placed ahead of the team’s success. If you don’t cross that line then it’s all good.

Classic Andy Johnson argument, redefine “ diva” from spoiled, entitled, difficult to deal with and please to “ tough, confident , leader, and then try to proceed with the argument on his newly defined narrative.

Polk is not the best we currently have he is probably the worst and was #4 on the snap. So you dont just get Polk. I get your point, you don't need to over dramatize.

Agree he is a short-term fix.

Vrabel is in the early days of establishing a culture. He will wake that group up but I don't think you have any high-ceiling guys there so if they continue being mediocre they'll be replaced.

My gut tells me Diggs will be fine because Vrabel is a strong leader.

Pick any other receiver we have and put him in polks place, it doesn’t defend what we have any better.

By saying only an incentive laden deal, you lose him.
I don't think you know that.
What are you gaining by tying pay to invented? Moral superiority and less risk if money Kraft won’t spend anyway?
Motivate the player/less financial risk for team if he physically can't perform or if he becomes disruptive and is cut.

Draft Hunter and get one of diggs or aiyuk. Suddenly wr goes from worst in the league to pretty damn good by the end of 25/ early 26. We can’t afford to overthink it and continue blowing it at wr.

When did we start believing that good football players aren’t important and it’s ok to have the worst WR corps in the league, by far, and find excuses to not want to improve it.
Where the hell do you get that from my post?

Call him whatever you want. He is far, far better than anything we have.
If you want bad players who are nice guys get used to drafting in the top 5
