That would probably be the best patriots roster since 2018.
You forgot about me!

He has to be Mayes first option or Maye will be on the sidelines with him getting verbally raped like Allen did his last year with the team. Dude is a year older (31..32 in Nov)coming off a torn ACL but everyone thinks he will play like its 2023. Same age as Kupp who is considered by most on here as washed up.

I don't like the dude, he is a diva. If he comes I hope he looks something like his old playing self and not a soon to be 32 year old coming off a major injury which is probably the case. I also hope Vrabel tells him you’re not going to go scream at Maye between series demanding the ball. The dude would be nothing more than a place holder and we don't need him negatively impact the growth of our promising QB.
God forbid our QB has a receiver who wants the ball.

Can you Please remind me about his „tantrums“?

He is /almost 32; so appx a 10 year vet. I only vaguely recall his whole history & I thought it was just one year in Buffy that he acted out/shot off his mouth.

If my memory correct; & that „only one year„ was a contract prove-it year ; he was quite young; or there was other **** going on team-internal (that we maybe don’t know) then you can maybe discount that rep a good bit.

I also (as others said) would be more worried about the medical status & age situation vs attitude.

If the money works … depth is good & likely better than what we got (barring miracle development/transformations).

& bonus: him on 90-man roster provides ability in Draft to be unpredictable. If everyone knows you have a desperate need they can hold trades hostage for max value. W diggs on board they can bluff a take-it-or-leave it offer to get what they want.
The multiple tantrums took place his last year in BUF. He was 29.

My point is that behavior is not the kind of thing we want for Drake or this offense.

I'm good if he signs here on an incentive - laden deal. If he becomes overly disruptive, he'll be released.

I called Diggs and was blasted.
I would love Diggs and a rookie or Aiyik.

You call every Wide receiver in the league, even the ones who are completely unavailable, and say “ well maybe Vrabes can talk to Kevin O’Connells wife and convince her to convince him to trade Justin Jefferson for a 3rd round pick…..?”

32 coming off ACL. Not the Diggs we remember

It beats receivers sitting quietly on the sidelines because they can’t get open

Remarkably, we have a team with receivers who can’t get open and people think that’s better than one who can and wants the ball. Receivers are supposed to want the ball.
Besides with this wr room he will get so many targets he will be too tired to complain
It's one thing to want the ball and be emotional. It's another thing to throw multiple sideline tantrums and be disruptive within the team because he isn't getting a contract extension.

I used to think the same think. However there was more into the situation with diggs. In Buffalo he had those passionate outburst becuase Allen wasn't seeing the field at times and diggs knew how good Allen could be. Josh Allen became who he is with diggs there. I feel like diggs could have a similar impact for Drake.

McDermott isn't the type of coaching personality that Vrabel is. Vrabel isn't going to stand for any BS. However diggs has been an all pro, top 5 WR in the game during his career. Even at 31 on an ACL he could vastly help the entire offense.

What he did last season against us was just diggs doing diggs things.. as he's been his whole career.
I would like nothing more than to get a guy with his talent to come and perform well and fit in the program. I cant be convinced with him until I actually see it.

Don’t you wish some of our current WRs had that dog in them? Instead they all produce at a very low level while still maintaining a good mood
To your point we have a couple of WRs who have passively implied (Pop) they don't get the ball enough. But they are middling.

I have no issue with WRs pleading their case to the OC and QB. That's fine. However it needs to be done constructively and within the offensive plan.

Check out some of the YouTubes of Diggs losing his ****. That's just not something I can get behind..

If he can be a bit more controlled, sign me up

Not to paragon into anyone's discussion, but to me at least it's simple

If Diggs act up, Vrabel deals with him later, that is being a strict coach. Of course I wont blame Vrabel for Diggs being a DIVA, i will blame him if this extrapolates out of him.

If the pats lose money, we lose «value, I couldnt care less if its "bad investment" when its so obviously going to be (if any) a short term deal

You want to write it off as he simply wants the ball. I hope your right and its just that, I'm concerned that he is toxic. I hope isn't especially if he comes here. Sorry I have some reservation about an old broken receiver that may or may not be the savior.

When did we start believing that good football players aren’t important and it’s ok to have the worst WR corps in the league, by far, and find excuses to not want to improve it.

I don’t care. A toxic player who can play is an improvement over nice guys who can’t
Diggs has been productive in the NFL for 10 years, far better than anyone we have and you would rather stick with Polk because he complained?

Bourne, Douglass, Boutte, Polk, baker.
He doesn’t need to be the Diggs we remember

By saying only an incentive laden deal, you lose him.
What are you gaining by tying pay to invented? Moral superiority and less risk if money Kraft won’t spend anyway?

You like to put words in peoples mouths to support your arguments don't you. I have never said anything about Polk, so far he is nothing more than a jag that we hope can be something other than a waste of space.

If the Pats take Diggs I hope he fits in and I hope he looks something like his former self. I have reservations about him and what he will be able to do, but if he joins the Pats I hope its a good decision.

Hold up AJ

This is where you lose me as you being a coherent human being

This is clearly a trade-off. We want IL, you want G, where can we meet in the middle?

There is no moral angle here

Without a doubt. I feel like Diggs is looking for a resurgence and knows that he will be the prime guy here. It's a win/win situation. Hopefully he signs.

It very well could be.
