So, a couple days into the season, we have $75M+ and need two starters on the OL. I guess I see this situation as half-full. I think that the OL will be below average this year, but better than 2024. How much better depends on the next 3 additions, and the coaching up of the players that we have.

And I do believe that we will be a much better team with our top 5-10 Defense, top 10 Special Teams, and hopefully an OL int the 20-25 range. If we find the two NFL level starters, we will likely win about half of our games.

Hunter would be a no-brainer for the Giants. Slayton is more of a WR3 than a WR2. But I think where Hunter would help them more is at CB. Between drafting Hunter and signing Adebo, the Giants will have turned CB from a weak spot to a strength overnight. In order for Hunter to fall to us at 4 we’d have to hope the Titans take Carter with their pick and that the Browns and Giants go QB back to back with theirs.

If a team wants 2 1st rounders for an overrated WR and then said player requires a salary of $35m a year......yes we look to draft this year and look at next year to improve the position with an elite talent

Can’t disagree, and hope you are right but if the OL & WR’s don’t improve, well, afraid we’ll be looking at another too-5 draft pick. What bugs me is that these areas of “concern” have undergone 3 attempts (2 FA signing periods & 1 Draft) and all we have to show is an expected starting 33-year old RT for probably 2-years at bedtime…

Lockett has been able to play as long as he has despite his dimunitive size because he’ll take a dive to avoid getting tackled, which is smart, but also can be frustrating to watch from a fan perspective. For a fanbase that loves its dirtdogs Lockett is more of a finesse type, the antithesis of fighting for every yard. Doesn’t strike me as Vrabel’s flavor.

I read an interesting article at profootballtalk.com regarding the quantity of WR free agents still available. The quote that caught my attention was "The fact that so many receivers are available at this point is a sign that the position is becoming in some respects like running back. Every year, young, cheap, healthy, and productive options are available in the draft class." (I note that there are ~14 WRs in this year's draft expected to go in first three rounds). The receivers still available that are mentioned in the article are Amari Cooper, Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen, Brandin Cooks, Tyler Lockett, Diontae Johnson, Robert Woods, Nelson Agholor, JuJu, Tyler Boyd, and Mecole Hardman. Others not mentioned Elijah Moore, Tyler Johnson, Deandre Carter. I'm curious what the Patsfans community thinks. Are WRs becoming like RBs? Is supply of non-elite WR > than demand? In terms of roster construction, can you successfully allocate less cap space to WR and build a winning and sustainable model? Any thoughts on this are much appreciated.

So the only player who can improve our sad WR corps is a guy you have to give 2 1s for? Has any wr ever been traded for 2 1s?
The comment wasn’t wait until next year to try to get the greatest WR who ever lived, it was wait til next year for WR. I think we need to improve the WR room this year, not stand pat

Who is left? Diggs, Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen and Tyler Lockett as best I can tell. All on the decline, but likely still better than what we currently have.

Our first pick at this point is likely dedicated to LT, and our second pick may be too low for a decent WR in this thin class.

Out of the four you listed, I want Tyler Lockett, who should’ve been a Patriot all this time anyway… And I feel that this WR class is pretty good through the 4th round before it dries-up.
