What’s our plan at Wide Receiver?

The Packers got young and good with one draft class. We could also do the same. I am thinking they are gonna punt again this year on offense. If Hunter is there they draft him at 4 else it's going to be Campbell and possibly another OT by trading up to 28 or 29.

This is not the year to waste dollars on a wide receiver . Save the 30 million $ this year for someone who will be available mid season. It will always open up. And we might also get lucky with draft this year or Baker .

is he DK’s replacement?

It’s definitely a year to add wide receivers, because we suck at wide receiver. Just giving up on a season because it’s hard is the wrong move.
Remember everyone said don’t worry about WR, we are getting Tee Higgins next year.

There are still many upgrades available and plenty of resources.
Why would you give up on the season and ignore your weaknesses with 60 mill and a full draft left?
Huh?

Please lay out a plan on acquiring a WR1 without giving up 2 1st rounders and spending $35m AAV.

“WR1” isn’t the only need. There are better WRs than we have available in FA, trade and draft.
There are certainly upgrades at OL available in volume.

The suggestion was we just wait until next year and give up.

What a fiasco. How does this team walk away after this week with Mack Hollins the big offense UFA signing?
Going on 6 years of inept offenses and patience is wearing thin.
We have a timid GM who is afraid to take any risks.
They are not getting an elite WR in this draft
Its not happening.
Team will be bottom 5 in offense again.
Get rid of Wolf
Rant done

Just heard we “lost” out on Kupp - well probably a bad assumption on my part since we may not have wanted to burn some of our still remaining gazillion cap dollars when we can save them for next year again. I know, i know, Kupp is trending down, not worth the $’s, etc. etc. *but* if we had signed him, today he would be our BEST receiver!! No pressure, but we are now 0 for 3 (last year free agency, last year’s draft, and this tear’s free agency) when it comes to fixing our 2 biggest weaknesses ( WR & OL). Here are most of the players brought in to “fix” these areas:

WR’s
====
K.J. Osborn
J’Lynn Polk
Javon Baker
Mack Hollins

O-Line
=====
Chukwuma Okorafor
Nick Leverett
Tyrone Wheatley Jr
Caden Wallace
Layden Robinson
Wes Schweitzer
Ben Brown
Demontrey Jacobs
Morgan Moses

The only name that strikes me as a potential starter is RT M. Moses though I certainly prefer to be wrong.

Let’s hope we don’t go 0 for 4 and blow this year’s draft otherwise its gonna be a long year even with that improved defense.

As Dirty Harry once said: “You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do you feel lucky?'”

Who is left? Diggs, Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen and Tyler Lockett as best I can tell. All on the decline, but likely still better than what we currently have.

Our first pick at this point is likely dedicated to LT, and our second pick may be too low for a decent WR in this thin class.

fair enough
!) Moses should almost assuredly be a starter at RT, with Strange starting at LG or C and Onwenu at RG.
THAT IS THREE NFL LEVEL STARTERS.

We should have a decent backup or two from Lowe, Robinson, Wallace, Sow, Schweitzer, Andrews and Brown.

So, a couple days into the season, we have $75M+ and need two starters on the OL. I guess I see this situation as half-full. I think that the OL will be below average this year, but better than 2024. How much better depends on the next 3 additions, and the coaching up of the players that we have.

And I do believe that we will be a much better team with our top 5-10 Defense, top 10 Special Teams, and hopefully an OL int the 20-25 range. If we find the two NFL level starters, we will likely win about half of our games.

It just doesn’t feel like a serious effort to fix the offense.

Sometimes I wonder if the stigma around the league with Josh Mcdaniels is playing a factor offensively.

Don’t expect more than 5 wins with that attitude, and prepare yourself for Drake finishing last in the league in passing statistics

If you give him trash, don’t expect him to produce
Lol.

Last year’s roster would have notched 5 wins, likely more, just by replacing Mayo with Vrabel.

There are already substantial upgrades to the roster and we’re not yet done with FA let alone the draft.

Maybe the evaluation inside the team front office is that coaching was the biggest problem with the offense, not players.

If so, there’s been a very serious effort to fix the offense. Or have you missed the coaching staff turnover?
