What’s our plan at Wide Receiver?

The plan now should be signing either Amari Cooper or Stefon Diggs, and draft another WR (they need to keep trying until they hit with one). I’d also be open to revisiting Brandon Aiyuk as long as the Pats don’t overpay on picks.

Overpay. So.much for a hometown discount lol
Personally, I'm glad he's elsewhere. And he's not worth that much money at this point (no matter how the contract is structured).

At this point it's potentially a trade or waiting on the draft. It makes no sense to sign any old vet and have to pay him millions just to say you have a guy. Higgins is finalizing his extension per profootballtalk.com, Aiyuk never wanted to come to New England, Diggs is a cancer, Cooper and Cooks are washed. It's clear the Patriots aren't desperate.

Not sure if that's a good thing. If we roll out trash again next year at least we can say, "hey, we weren't desperate tho".

Who are they trading for if it’s not Aiyuk? I’m not thrilled with any of the remaining options either but there needs to be some improvement to that WR corps. Going into the season with a top 3 group of Hollins/Boutte/Douglas isn’t going to cut it. The fact they tried to sign Godwin and Kupp on top of the existing group indicates that they agree. They should still draft someone and that’s one thing we can agree on.

Yes unfortunately it's not the best year to be in need of a rookie WR but there are a few gems in the middle of the draft.....

Tre Harris being my personal favorite.

Looks like Cincy is actually going to show Higgins the money.

Pats will have to do something they haven't been capable of doing since 1996 when they drafted a top end WR in Glenn.

So far they are sticking with basically the same offensive personnel and some rookies. Major holes in OL, WR and RB. Need blocking and weapons. They couldn't fix everything and they focused on defense.
The offense will not be good.

At this point it's the most prudent approach.
There are still many upgrades available and plenty of resources.
Why would you give up on the season and ignore your weaknesses with 60 mill and a full draft left?

They aren’t done.

Solidify the offensive line, attack WR again next year, it is what it is.
Don’t expect more than 5 wins with that attitude, and prepare yourself for Drake finishing last in the league in passing statistics

If you give him trash, don’t expect him to produce

I don’t want to give him trash. But please elaborate how you would weaponize the offense at this point? Cap space be damned if there’s minimal options.

I think I’d we’re lucky Hunter drops to 4 in the draft, that’s our best chance of adding the best playmaker at this point.

Thus the "so far". But the options are dwindling. Please tell me the "many upgrades available".
There are plenty of players available at many positions who are good enough to beat out players that would make our 53 as of today.
