That would be both smart and prudent. I'd certainly give Jenkins a one year deal (given his talent and age). And if he stays healthy and takes care of his body, and is totally committed to the program, then they can extend him (if it's reasonable).

But obviously he's going to look for a team willing to spend more. So if they stick to that stance, which is reasonable, then it probably means they won't land the player.

That is a solid grouping. Would probably be pretty productive. Backups are not too bad either.

This is my concern. We we heading down a path where the 3 teams ahead of us pretty clearly need a QB and it’s becoming likely two of them will pull the trigger on them and one of the two blue chip players are going to fall into their lap and they’ll pass on them for a guy who **maybe** can play tackle. Ugh.

If this happens you 100% take the blue chip player. Then trade away picks for a or another asset. You never let a blue chip player pass you by unless it is for a QB who you think has a shot.

IOL depth. brings experience and vet leadership to what is shaping up to be a young OL (other than Moses).
no one thought Jordan would be anything last year, yet he was needed, and answered the bell week in and week out, playing some good games.
teams can improve their depth, culture, experience all while still looking to sign top of roster players.
signing Schweitzer changes nothing in the hunt for OL upgrades.
complainers will complain.

But, this seams like the vet LG we're hoping for. He played LG most of his career early. But played all over, including Center and LT. Not bad to have a veteran versatile guy. I hope he's not the presumed answer though!

That center versatility is nice because we're uncertain how that position will end up. Andrews just got released. Will Strange claim the spot or could it be Scheiwtzer?

Well that just isn’t true. He was only active for 4 games and played 1 snaps.
The team had 1066 snaps which equals 3198 for IOL.
The starters played 2933. Out of 265 snaps by backups the guy who got 1 wasn’t the primary backup.
