I don't know that Bill went out of his way to publicly mock other coaches. Sure, if you look you can find some clips, but in general in public he was more about blowing smoke up other team's coaches and player's butts.

The other point is that this isn't two years ago. He got fired by the Pats and didn't get another NFL job offer. His need or desire to conform is pretty low.

Personally I think it is a bit ridiculous, but it doesn't bother me much. I bet a lot of the angry posts here is at least in part due to jealousy.

While I agree with the “it’s his life” narrative, I’ll echo posters that feel it’s embarrassing. While trying not to place my own preferences and life on his choices, it’s still tough to see someone who I felt was brilliant seem more like someone getting used.

So be it : BB is an individual and can lead the life he prefers. It most def wouldn’t be the first path I’d follow (nor the last path, really, as I can see that there are things she can bring to the table ocularly speaking).

They are using each other. It's a story as old as time. She is in essence his mistress. She is trading off youth and beauty (and presumably, sex) in exchange for access to wealth and power. Both sides know what's going on, even if they probably don't talk about it in these terms.

This thread made me think of the old "half your age and add seven" rule for dating. This would set his target age to 43, which seems more appropriate than 24. His previous squeeze was 60 when it ended for them. He traded her in for a younger model, but perhaps overshot the mark a bit.

Personally, I am in my early 60s and would feel really uncomfortable dating someone in their 20s. There's just not likely to be much common ground, but maybe these two have found some. 30s still a bit uncomfortable, 40s no real issue. This suggests that the half your age plus seven rule is pretty much on target for me, since age 60 would mean 37 and above is okay.

The funny thing about the rule mathematically is that when you are young the 'plus seven' part is pretty significant, but as you age the 'half your age' dominates. This is a bias that favors the old who want to date the young since it discounts age difference heavily. This helps support the concept of old men dating young women since that's the way this typically goes both now and in the past as well.

It sounds to me like she is doing personal assistant work for Belichick. As others have mentioned, this is in the field of social media which is something I would think the average 20-something knows a bit more about than Bill does.

It wouldn't surprise me - nor would I consider it a big deal - if he was giving her some sort of stipend for this. (If she was on the school's payroll, that would be a big deal and now we are entering Bobby Petrino territory). He is playing with fire in the sense that if the relationship goes south, all of a sudden a person he relied on to do a certain job is no longer there, but whatever.

BB has always been a man who has chased skirt. He had multiple extra-marital affairs on his first wife. Then Linda. Now the co-ed.

BB knows he is getting used....and he is using her. As creepy as we all think it is, they are both benefiting from their relationship. He has companionship and someone to help him adapt to Gen Zers. It works for him.
