It doesn't, but a) you don't know what this staff thinks about our existing 4 guards, unlike other areas of the team where there's no question; b) Guard is probably our 5th priority, and fans are a little more interested in priorities 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Flail away about guard, but at the end of the day there's a decent chance we stand pat because it was a coaching not a talent problem.
If our coaching staff doesn’t have a very low opinion of the flotsam and jetsam we have at C/G beyond Onwenu and Strange we are doomed.
They are not NFL caliber players, to blame coaching is lazy.

We have more than enough resources to address 5 needs.

Why are you arguing for the right to not improve the football team?

How about signing Kyle Juszczyk at FB and Nick Chubb at RB? If you're gonna be weak at WR, may as well be strong at TE and RB
I really hope they bring Kyle Juszczyk in or some other tough FB. I want a return of the fullback.

It is a bit strange. I would've thought more second tier guys would agree to deals. Not sure why they feel the need to wait, what advantage is there?
Is it more a case of the teams waiting to make more bigger deals/trades, or those players prices to come down?

IF they have an elite weapon on offense, then the defense has to focus on that. An elite TE/RB makes the existing WRs better. More than one way to skin a cat, regardless of what the fantasy football GMs here think.

Yep. Mack Hollins is a very good run blocker as well. I could see them pivoting that way a bit.
Who's the elite weapon though? Certainly not Chubb at this stage of his career. Rham is no elite player. Neither Henry nor Hooper are close to "elite weapons" even if good players. Maybe they draft Warren and he's the next Gronk but even Gronk wasn't an elite player in year 1 - TE is kind of tough to learn in McDaniels' offense because there's so many different formations/responsibilities. Maybe they take Tet but many doubt he'll be an elite weapon and even if he is one, probably not as a rookie.

I'm kinda disappointed in day 2 of the tamper period. Not just the Pats. There is next to no deals going on. I wonder if the league will wait for the real free agency to make anymore moves (after 4PM tomorrow).
I think the lower level of talent just don't like the offers they're getting.

Very slow day

I'd rather they draft that DT who can play FB or Center Willie Lampkins from UNC in the latter rounds who can also play FB. If Kyle is being let go, perhaps San Francisco thinks he's cooked.

It's entirely possible, but McD has had great luck with dedicated FBs. So if not Juszczyk, I hope it's someone else.

If the team is going back to using a FB, I'd prefer an actual FB that can block and catch some passes.

Ashton Jeanty at 4, to go along with Juszczyk at FB?

He is more of an H-back, which hasn't traditionally been part of McDaniels' offense. He prefers a third down back who is small but shifty but who can also block and then more of a beefy battering ram for a fullback.

I hope they're able to do that starting with this draft, because they haven't been able to do so in previous ones. Granted, Vrabel will hopefully see the WR position as worthy of investing more when it comes to drafting than Bill did.
He will also hopefully see “WHO TO DRAFT” differently.

Something like this?
Watching #53 here run in from the edge, completely whiff the tackle, and then just fall on the ground and lay there and watch, is always funny to me
