I wonder what the delay for teams on Robinson is. Both Moores went pretty early yesterday.
Apparently, Robinson has a difficult decision to make. Certainly, he needn't be in any rush.

That's some ********. Granted, having 400M isn't something I would turn down. But such winners are getting screwed.
They are choosing to take lump sum and invest it. No one thinks they're getting screwed for this.

The taxes are a separate issue.

Did Arizona sign Chad Ryland for more than one year?
He’s under contract this season and a restricted free agent next year. In hindsight we should have just held onto him.

The guy won 2B, but only took home 400M and change.
Yup.

As I said…$1B was the actual winnings if you take lump sum, not $2B.

$1B - 60% total taxes leaves $400MM.

Which, candidly if structured as a family office setup should provide generational wealth easily.

But…it is misleading to read “$2B” when that’s actually total paid out of you take the 30 yr annuity.

Sign Becton to play LT. Draft Will Campbell at #4 to play LG initially.

Your week 1 OL is Becton / Campbell / Strange / Onwenu / Moses. If Becton flops, you can kick Campbell out to LT and give him a shot there.

Onwenu's deal is set up that he's a cut candidate next year. Strange is a FA. Moses seems like a stop gap dressed up as a 3 year deal so could be one-and-done. Still a lot of flux there. But Becton and Campbell give you two cracks at finding a LT with the worst case scenario being they end up your starting guards. You can take more cracks at it in the draft too with later round OTs. RT is still a long term need too so more competition to the mix is good.

As an aside, Josh Myers would be a good signing. Give him a 2 year deal where you pay for his rehab this year and then next year you have him as insurance in case Strange walks as a FA or you end up moving him back to guard. For example, if Campbell ends up the LT and you cut Onwenu while extending Strange you could go Campbell / Strange / Myers / Becton / Moses next year. Just gives you options and depth. it also gives you some depth in case someone like Hunter or Carter fall to #4 and you think they're too good to pass up because then when Myers is back this year it could go him at center and Strange back to LG.
I would give Myers a 3 or 4 year contract expecting him to be our future starting center.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Was amazing how he turned it around. Good luck to him.

Great: two birds with one stone there.

We're still not onboard with the understanding that players CHOOSE which team and offer to accept?

Is there any evidence that we could have signed Jayline Moore for near what he got?
No, I understand how personal choice works thanks but I appreciate the sarcasm.

Is Myers an upgrade to Strange the center?
Maybe. The discussion is that Center is not a "need". Are upgrades possible? Yes, but upgrades do not qualify as a "need" in my book. A "need" is a hole. Right now we have a need at FA, EDGE, WR, LT, etc. I do not think Center is a need.

I don't agree. I think we could add at LG and C.
We don't know what Marrone thinks of Onwenu, Sow, Robinson, Strange, D Andrews, and J Andrews. The cupboard isn't bare at the IOL positions, and the lack of action yesterday on G's and C's suggests he might be OK with what we have. He may think Robinson can be the starting LG and Strange the starting Center.

Same goes for Wallace at T, I'm very curious what Marrone thinks of him.

2billion isn’t what he won, it’s the total of payout from the annuity the state would purchase with his winnings (I think it’s for 20 years, not certain) which were probably about 800 mill.
400 mill if after tax.
He would have had to if tax on the 2 bill, reducing it to 1 bill.
400 mill today or 50 mill a year for 20 years.
If you invested 400 mill wisely it would be worth much more than 1 bill after 20 years.

2 billion isn’t a real number, is a marketing ploy.

If C isn’t a need then LG is.

Ryland was running neck and neck with Slye in the preseason competition. Pats gave up too soon.
Agree,

my guess is Springer didn’t want to risk the yips coming back during the season.

Ouch… the Anthony Richardson era is already over in Indy, talk about flushing a 4th overall pick down the toilet.
