It's easy, and only takes a few moments.TE, a long with DL and RB is supposed to be the strength of this draft.Im not much of a draftnik, don't have the time but are there any good TEs in this draft? Some of the best have been drafted beyond the first round.
4+ Months from surgery to full recovery (barring complications). Sorry I couldn't narrow it down more.Evan Engram tore his labrum at the end of last season... anyone know/have an idea on the rehab time for that?
Otherwise, i'd at least kick the tires ... he's been pretty good
Ready for camp then... Bring him in... Cant hurt to kick the tires4+ Months from surgery to full recovery (barring complications). Sorry I couldn't narrow it down more.
You're Welcome Pape!4+ Months from surgery to full recovery (barring complications). Sorry I couldn't narrow it down more.
I can't interest you in a Juwan Johnson?Ready for camp then... Bring him in... Cant hurt to kick the tires
When you assume...(should be the name of this site). That’s surprising, it has seemed like he’s been unavailable much more than that.
I'd rather not spend money on yet another TE, when you can draft one who can develop behind the 30 year olds for a year or two. Henry and Hooper are a fine 1, 2 while you're developing someone else. Also I'm still waiting for the first time for Evan Engram to block someone.I'm surprised how quickly this was dismissed, along with the general opinion that Hooper is just fine.
Hooper isn't bad but assuming Engram is healthy he seems to be an obvious upgrade. Even missing 8 games he had more catches than Hooper last season. Hooper hasn't had more than 46 catches since 2019, while Engram had 114 just 2 seasons ago. Hooper's YPC is better the past few seasons, and that obviously matters, but I think in this offense just getting open enough for 100+ catches matters more as we don't know if line play is going to improve dramatically.
If this offense was loaded with reliable open WRs I might feel differently about this, as a 100 catch TE wouldn't really be needed. Like I said Hooper isn't bad, but we have a whole offense of players who "aren't bad." We need to start looking to upgrade. Unfortunately, that does not look like it's going to change unless the Pats make a splash.
Both are 30 years old. Hooper is a FA and while he won't cost as much as Engram, he's going to be more expensive to keep this year. I believe Hooper is a better blocker, which is obviously a big deal in this offense. That said, I don't think it's a slam dunk you don't at least kick the tires on Engram. If healthy he could be a great addition for Maye.
This is a reasonable take, and I agree TE isn't a weakness. But that doesn't mean it couldn't be improved upon.I'd rather not spend money on yet another TE, when you can draft one who can develop behind the 30 year olds for a year or two. I like him too. Definitely bring him in competition with Hooper and the other TEs..Ready for camp then... Bring him in... Cant hurt to kick the tires
Hooper is a FA. He might not be here to compete.I like him too. Definitely bring him in competition with Hooper and the other TEs..
Hooper that is right.. another player I'd like to see back here. Guy was good for us.Hooper is a FA. He might not be here to compete.
I don’t think he’s a great blocker. I know he wasn’t for the Giants and I’m not sure he improved much in Jax.Engram is a productive TE When he's healthy, he's put up some pretty healthy #'s. Good Blocker? I don't know, but definitely a guy that can catch... AGAIN, WHEN HEALTHY.
Without watching him much in Jax (other than for FF purposes) I certainly don't think he's ever been a plus blocker, but I don't think he's horrible at it either. That would not be why he was brought in, I agree.I don’t think he’s a great blocker. I know he wasn’t for the Giants and I’m not sure he improved much in Jax.
I think he’s a plus player at Tight End but at that position and on the wrong side of 30 I’m not sure how much more you’re getting out of him.
I think if you have him 2-3 years (if healthy obviously) he’s a plus. But with resigning Hooper I don’t think he’s a needWithout watching him much in Jax (other than for FF purposes) I certainly don't think he's ever been a plus blocker, but I don't think he's horrible at it either. Is being 30 a huge deal for players these days other than cowbell backs? I feel like more and more players are playing into their mid and even late 30s. This is purely anecdotal, but I feel like that would not stop the Pats from at least taking a look.
Yep, resigning Hooper just took this off the table. I wish they had gone in a different direction. They don't seem interested in improving this offense with any known commodities.I think if you have him 2-3 years (if healthy obviously) he’s a plus. @signbabybradyHooper that is right.. another player I'd like to see back here. Guy was good for us.
