All going to be fighting over the same 1 or 2 semi-competent o linemen that hit FA!
Gotta draft 'em.
Trading down for an OL seems more and more right.
Campbell pleaseI would rather see them stay out and take Membou or Campbell.
If Simmons is healthy and looks like a top 15 player at his pro-day, then I could see us drafting him in the top 10.
Campbell please
Agreed there Ross best to have as much depth as possible.. as we all know OL play alot of snaps and don't sub in and out like other positions.. depth is essential. If you sign a guy like Moore or Robinson, they can be the placeholder LT for now - and then if you draft a guy like Membou then you can go into camp with both tackle spots flexible. If Membou looks good at LT right away then Moore/Robinson can swap over to RT. If Membou probably needs a year and should start at RT for now, then you make that swap the following year.
I know. I just think he's a good player period. That’s an LSU Sports radio show from before the 2024 season.
He strikes me as the kind of guy that Vrabel falls in love with to be honest. High IQ, high work ethic, leadership, some people say he can’t do XYZ. Gives him a chip on his shoulder. Vrabel probably likes that.I know. I just think he's a good player period.
Great explanation Ross. You are right on the money with that assessment. I knew long before FA started that we would have the chance to sign Stanley or Jackson as good OTs aren't typically available on the market. Now we are in the Dan Moore and cam Robinson sweepstakes. Sure sign either one however still should take Campbell IMO.He strikes me as the kind of guy that Vrabel falls in love with to be honest. Simmons injury scares me. I posted a story about his injury withing the last couple of months that talked about the dangers of that particular injury. Can't find it now, but it caused me to question the wisdom of drafting him.Membou or Simmons. Simmons has LT experience.
At the Combine Simmons said he was healing well and could work out at his Pro Day. If his patellar heals that fast, it must not have been too severe. Cole Strange took 1 year to heal. The OL wears knee braces so that might have saved Simmons patellar from a full tear.Simmons injury scares me. This is a good point here from Breer:
Moore is criticized for his higher number of sacks allowed, but we have to remember it was rambling scrambling Russell Wilson back there. If you refer to the link @Huckleberry1 shared in another thread:
2024 NFL pass rush, run stop, blocking win rate rankings
Our win rate metrics stack the NFL's best run-blocking, run-stopping, pass-protecting and pass-rushing players and teams.www.espn.com
... You will see that Dan Moore had a "pass block win rate" of 93%, which means that he held off his block for more than 2.5 seconds on 93% of his opportunities. This was good for 11th best in the league, one slot better than Ronnie Stanley, who had a win rate of 92%.
I think so because Campell is probably an upgrade and Moore can play RT. But realistically you probably hope for Hunter or Carter to fall, or trade down, and then scoop a tackle. All depends on what Vrabel, Cowden/Wolf, and Marrone think.Question Ross? If we signed him do we still entertain taking Campbell???
Got it. So heading into camp with Moore, Campbell with depth on the OL makes a world of difference.. also it will create great competition and push each other..I think so because Campell is probably an upgrade and Moore can play RT. Draft a guy to play the position he excelled at, not everyone can change positions.
