Here’s an idea? Give it 2 weeks. If they haven’t done anything significant to fix the team then *****.

We need guys that fit.. not just names.. quality over quantity.. do you know why we had great locker room culture and everyone pulling in the same direction early on? Because we had the guys that fit what BB was trying to establish early on. Not that it's secret huck.. but your a smart poster you know what I'm getting at.

I don’t see anyone pretending they are still the dynasty Patriots. What I see is many people acting like they never won a Lombardi.
Ok. Well I have seen past post in relation to what I'm saying.. anyhow I'm just speaking on what I've seen. This guy sucks... nah don't sign him he's this or he's that .. yo man.. our roster ****ing sucks!!

That’s exactly what Vrabel has said he’s going to build, but he actually needs to wait for the new league year to really get underway with that project.

Agreed. I think Monday is the legal tamper period right??

A lot of cuts and a lot of competition for reps.

That’s because this is the time of year, tween the end of the season, and the start of free agency. When teams are unloading the guys who have turned into toast, or aren’t worth their bloated contracts, yet because they were once big names everyone wants them and pretends they can still play, so “ sign the beast.” And if the team does that then they are wasting their money and resources, and will never build a long term contender, because “ winning now” is more important to a bunch of fans than building a great team is. Newsflash: You don’t build a great team by replacing bad to mediocre players with different bad to mediocre players, and you don’t build a team first culture by bringing players who don’t want to play here against their will. You build a great team by making smart decisions in free agency, drafting well, and developing your draft picks and undrafted free agents. You don’t pay good players like superstars, and you draft primarily for BPA, and not for need. That doesn’t mean you don’t address needs, but it does mean that you don’t let that override talent when there’s a significant difference.

We mostly talk about the Tackles, but on this thread...
What's a realistic starting interior-3? So curious how they really feel about Strange & Robinson.
B.Brown signing seems like a camp test.
But what if it turned out to be - Robinson / Strange / Onwenu on the IOL??
How would you feel?

Likely baring injury. Layden Robinson is strictly a RG. And a promising one at that. Onwenu as trade bait?
Barely weighs 300 pounds and needed to get stronger. If he and Wallace enter this season weighing closer to 320 I’ll have some hope for them as potential starters. Robinson is a good technician, reminds me of Josh Kline.

I like the idea, but if the worst OL in football is trying to trade their best OLman that is not a good sign that the player is good

I would think that we having given up on improving the IOL for 2025 and would expect maybe one of them to be 2026 starters for us.

Alt was the best LT in last year's draft and played RT all year for the Chargers. We take Membou at #4, and let him play RT as he learns LT. Membou is 20 years old and still growing into his body while competing against grown men. Sign a LT in FA and draft another developmental tackle this year or next. Move Wallace inside to play guard and solidify that group. OL problems solved.
I suspect that we may have to draft a couple or three OT's (not to mention a True Center which can be had in the middle rounds). Even so, I'd really like them to also come away with Jayden Higgins, or at least a WR that can become what I hope he will. And, considering that this class is very deep at TE and RB, we need to draft and hit on one of each.

We can't fix everything this season. We have a good chance of fixing defensive line and potentially 3 or 4 spots in Oline.

We should stay put for wide receivers and just look at it from a free agency perspective. No point drafting a wide receiver unless it's a generational talent after expending 2 decent draft picks last year.

My preferred plan C for wide receiver is Elijah Moore

So, the same 2024 players at IOL (Sow, Strange and Onwenu) will by MAGIC become a competent set of starters?

And Wallace will be the Gameday backup LT and RT? I'm down with expecting Wallace to be a backup RT, but he has shown nothing to believe that he can be our backup LT.
=======
To put in another way, let us say that our 2nd tier LT is injured. You are counting on Wallace to be our LT, backed up by a mid-round draft choice.
That's a disturbing though. Last years draft evaluations pegged Wallace as best suited to RG. And yes, I share your less than glowing outlook to the IOL that was on the roster last season.

Metcalf, Brown, Samuel, Pittman Jr. and Higgins were all 2nd Round Picks and became #1A or 1B or solid #2 WR's. I'd hate to pass up on one of those in this class as I suspect that there will be one or two (Jayden Higgins being one), that could be one of those gems that we passed over on two consecutive drafts. I do agree that this is a minimum 2 year rebuild to get the OL and the rest of the team up to speed to be a threat to the rest of the NFL.

It's just that this wr draft class is considered pretty ordinary..don't want to overextend . This class is pretty good on tight ends, running backs and DTs. Better to expand high draft capital there.
