Exactly! If you were Stanley would you rather play for KC at 25 or Pats at 28The NFL is more and more giving me NBA free agency vibs where athletes just don't want to play in certain areas. Like Boston for instance since it is cold and not a party town. However with the hard cap it will never be as bad. The problem is when it comes to the absolute top end players who can get paid at any number of locations... it seems like it is hard for the Pats to get them unless they excessively over pay.
Even then at what point does the money stop mattering to these guys. If the Pats offer Ronnie Stanley 28M/year (making him the highest paid tackle in the NFL and some other very good team offers him 25.... does that extra 3M a year factor in that much to him when he gets a choice between chilling in Miami or in Boston for the next 5 years?
