Wolf has final say on the roster

Bob is full of ****.

He has no problem with someone running the show. Vrabel currently does.

Bob has a problem with losing and had a problem with BB.
If Thunder has no issue with Vrabel in 100% control than Groh and Wolf are not still here.

Not really. Common for FO folks to stick around until after the draft.

100% control means he dictates who is being drafted.

How many HC/GM types are left in the NFL?

Your claim Vrabel is one is laughable. 6 seasons an NFL HC and 1 season as the Browns consultant. GM too? What a joke.

Yes, Kraft is going to hand over the draft to a guy with 7 years upper NFL management.

Vrabel learned the NFL GM racket online at nights.

I never said that.

McVay and Andy Reid aren't GMs.

I feel like "contractually " wolf may have it.. however Vrabel isn't here for nothing. He's the guy and I trust Vrabels eye, cowden and Streicher to weaponize this team like wolf was supposed to.last off season.
You mean that we have better coaches to coach what Wolf might be able to provide?

What I feel like Vrabel could also do is involve Drake in some meetings with trying to court big FAs. Drake and Vrabel are the faces of the organization. The NFLPA survey doesn't help. However showing someone 40 million guaranteed can make a lot of difference. I like your points.
What a truly horrible idea.

Acquiring talent should not be a OR stunt.

Wolf and Vrabel are quite able to negotiate. If not, have Maye present won't help.

You said that Kraft has no issue giving Vrabel total control IE: picking players = draft.

How does Vrabel know who to draft?

How does Vrabel know who to draft?
Posters have told him that Vrabel will be one of the very best in drafting. Posters have said this over and over.

Do you really think Wolf is picking the players HE wants that Vrabel doesn't?

I think that I understand your position.

Vrabel has long discussions with Wolf telling him what he wants. Wolf's teams sift through all the data and do the analysis and come up with a draft board. Wolf and Vrabel discuss the board.

The team agrees on a draft board.

And then on Draft Days every decision, every trade possibility, every pick needs the approval of Vrabel.

Do I have this approximately right?

If I have this right, Wolf will be working for another team after the draft, just as so many her want and Vrabel will effectively be the GM or have the GM reporting to him.

I believe that is exactly what many posters want. They truly want another Belichick, fully in charge of everything.

Perhaps Vrabel is that good. I just don't think that he is or needs to be.

The term "GM" needs to be fluid. You can have someone who owns the ops (scouting, cap, FA, etc) but they take direction from someone who owns the strategy and vision.

I think that is what Reid has in KC and what Vrabel has here.

We understand each other.

I just don't think that Vrabel is Reid or anywhere close. I do think that he can be a great coach, without the additional responsibilities. I think that he can communicate what he needs very well. That does NOT necessarily translate into making the best drafting decisions. I think that the draft should be the responsibility of Wolf, with the possible exception of the first pick (since it is top 5). I suspect that the Kraft's would want to be part of the decision on that first pick.

Off-season trades and signings may or may not be a bit different. I can see Vrabel having veto power. He could look at a possible LB or DL signing and say that he just doesn't want to coach him.

An analogy is Josh. He is a great OC. Make him a HC and then value is lost.

I just don't see Kraft giving a HC that much power when Bill Belichick was just fired because Kraft didn't believe one guy should have that much control

I think he got him and Wolf in a room to see if they could be aligned and I think Vrabel will have a seat at the table. But Kraft is completely done with the idea of one guy having final say over every aspect of the team. He doesn't want to be in a position two years from now where Vrabel might be a good coach but they have to pull responsibilities.

Wouldn't you rather have that power in Vrabel's And Cowden's hands than in the hands of those two ****ing totally ****ing incompetent ****ing nepo idiots?

Agree completely. Vrabel isn't in the same league as Reid or McVay or BB. He doesn't have that mojo.

To your point, I do think Vrabes has "veto power"

It's not out the norm for example when the Celtics were trying to get Durant ownership used Tatum and brown to help in that.. pioli even said that brady would interject himself to court guys to sign. It's not abnormal.. the Vrabel already said to FAs they will have opportunity and $$$$.
