Jason LaCanfora: Pats really want Higgins "He's going to New England"

Unfortunately a $20M AAV free agent offer to Higgins wouldn't even generate a return call from his agent

Yeah, but you are leaving out 4.3 speed and explosive quicks and exceptional hands. There is no comparison. If the only things needed for a Moss comparison are height and long arms then Javon Baker is a Randy Moss comparison.
Right huck. Randy is on a different levels talking about the body type and catch radius.. no one's proclaiming him to be Randy that's a force. What is simply being said is he would impact the offense and take coverage like a true outside the numbers guys supposed. Ask Joe Burrow.

He's already told the media he'll restructure his contract if he needs to. He's leaving the Bengals no excuses. The only card the Bengals can play is if Higgens demands $35M or more as that will destroy the market to sign Chase later.
Chase is the guy who can command 35 million.. tee is more in the 25-30 range..

I just don't buy it, Vrabel seems to dislike recurring soft tissue injuries and that is what Tee is known for. He has had at 6 HS injuries in 5 seasons and once it happens people tend to be more susceptible to them, so I am not convinced that Vrabel does this.
Jerod's miracle working trainer/conditioning coach brother will coach that right up!

My only issue with Higgins is that we will probably give him market resetting money for a guy who is a #1 but is not elite who also has injury issues.

I agree. It would be great to avoid a huge price tag just because he's the premier option in FA.

Is DeAndre Hopkins a free agent? If so I would rather try to sign him and Godwin and invest that money on the defensive line.

They have 130 million in cap space.

You can get two tackles, a guard, DeAndre Hopkins and Tee Higgins and still have 50 million left over.

San Diego Chargers will be in the Running for Higgins also.

At what price will you question this? I like the guy but will not go more than 20M. He is always injured.
Im prepared to be shocked and blown away by the deal thats reported day one. Something like 5 years 160 million 75 guaranteed. What i actually expect to find out a week later when the "real" numbers come out is thats a 3 year 85 million deal which sounds perfect for both sides. Higgins gets a chance to prove he is a #1 with Maye throwing him the ball AND cash in again possibly bigger before he hits 30. The patriots get that crucial #1 weapon for Maye while him and Gonzo are on rookie deals so they can afford (1) 30 million a year player, then when its time to resign them goodbye slightly overpriced FA. As with most deals it all comes down to length and guaranteed money, im willing to take on whatever fake **** he needs to be "highest paid" but anything up to 3 years 90 mil with less then 15 mil dead cutting him after year 3 sounds perfect to me.

They will have over 150 in cap space by free agency. I want one higher priced receiver, and at least one day 2 Draft pick. Preferably a guy like Mathew Golden.
