What the heck are you talking about? Kraft is quoted saying "It was his [meaning Vrabel's} decision" right in Graff's tweet. There's nothing there's nothing there even remotely implying it was anyone's choice but Vrabel's
That’s what Im saying. People have tried to say that Kraft pushed McDaniels on Vrabel. You havent seen that? I was pushing back against that narrative. I clearly did a poor job of communicating that.

My wife would tell you that gives us something in common... she could communicate that for hours

I think he’s talking about people here who tried to say Kraft did it to save money.

That wouldn't make sense considering McDaniels used to be one of the highest paid OC's in the league and he could literally come in and say "you paid me this much last time I was here, if you think I'm your guy again, why wouldn't you AT LEAST give me that".

It would be cheaper to get a first time OC who wants it on his resume

I didn’t say it made sense, I said that’s what Redeemer’s comment was referring to.

McDaniels is being paid by Al Davis still. So hes dirt cheap. People on this board and some media members were saying that Kraft oushed McDaniels onto Vrabel. I was commenting on that.

That's a sad post
I feel so sad now

"...when he’s given the offensive coordinator title, by league rule, you have to pay him a salary commensurate with that job."

Exactly. The Raiders are still paying Mcdaniels, so he’s cheap to the Krafts. The assertion by people was that was the reason Kraft pushed Mcdaniels onto Vrabel. Because of the whole Kraft is cheap narrative.

You're missing the point, that being that the Patriots are having to pay him a salary similar to what other OC's are making. Kraft isn't getting him on the cheap because the Raiders are paying him.

Re-read it. If his salary is to be 3 million, Kraft can pay him 1 million and the raiders pay the difference. It doesnt matter. Thats not what my post was about. My post was against the idea that Kraft pushed Mcdaniels onto Vrabel.

Agree to disagree. My reading from that article, as well as others, is that the Pats have to pay him the going rate for OC's ($3M in your example) and the Raiders can offset that from what they owe him.

Yeah. That sucks. He’s a great positional coach. Was sad to see him go, angry to see him sign with a division rival. What can you do though? A guy’s got to eat.
We essentially swapped theirs for ours.
Bet it was Vrabel’s call not his:
