Travis Hunter

Huh?

This kid plays full time on both sides of the ball, and you are worried about his work ethic?

Yup.....his footwork is not great, he doesnt use his hands well in press.....he has relied on his athleticism to get by; will he improve on skills a top CB prospect should already have?

Travis Hunter will never play more than half the games in a season if he plays both sides of the ball full-time. I don’t care how smart or athletic he is. We’re not talking 260 lbs Mike Vrabel here…Hunter is 185 lbs.

So Hunter won the Heisman and Biletnikoff trophies, and you think he can improve his technique? That is great news.

Based on the compilation of most scouting reports, yes.....over reliance on athleticism

Those are technical questions, nothing suggests he doesn’t have a strong work ethic.

Vrabel also would never play full time on both sides. Hunter might be good at one or the other, but people need to stop thinking they are getting two elites guys for the price of one. They are getting one guy with the potential to be elite at one position and have some gimmick use at the other (and that's only if he plays CB). It's also just as likely that Hunter gets drafted somewhere and just becomes an okay CB and a team ultimately a team decides he just needs to focus on being the best he can at that and not have a distraction

I think the Titans are taking him number 1 overall.

If both hunter and carter are gone id like to see how much the raiders want sanders. I have a feeling graham would still be there at 6 so id seriously consider it at the right price

if he wasn't coasting on athletic ability and hype, he'd have worked to improve already

I'm all in on Carter or Henry if we can't get 1 of them then I think trading back and picking up some extra capital makes sense so long as we still get Graham, Campbell, or Tet.

What makes you say he hasn't?

You've got to give us some reason to believe this narrative because I haven't seen anyone questioning his work ethic?

His work ethic isn't the question tbh. His potential ceiling is. Alot of the hype on Hunter is that he's a great player in college at two positions and if he only focused on one like he will in the NFL that he could really be incredible. But we just don't know what that looks like. Like he's a top 3 player in the draft at both CB and WR, but he's also splitting time when the others aren't so he could be incredible.

But he could also not actually have much more potential to improve and just stays at pretty solid.

It's a gamble I'd really like to take

Hunter will be the BPA if he is there at 4 (with Carter having be already taken.
========
We could take him or move down 2-5 spots. The open question is what value we will be offered. We won't know that until we are on the clock.

I suppose it is possible that someone could offer enough that we would take the trade before the draft starts. Perhaps, we would like the BPA at 6 plus an extra 2nd.

I would love if we landed Hunter. It is very possible we do. It’s possible 2 QBs go top 4 just due to need (Giants & Browns). That being said, what if one of the QBs slide to 4, I wouldn’t be upset if we trade down to the Raiders to get extra picks.

He would be a lot more appealing if we didn't already have Gonzalez, that's one of the only spots on the team where we have a potential all pro player.

We have far too many needs to draft another corner who's going to take a few snaps at receiver.

I know you want to draft best player available but if Carter and Hunter are available i'm taking Carter all day long, the pass rush was completely invisible against any QB with a pulse.

Having Gonzalez puts us in a unique spot where we can potentially spare a few defensive snaps so he can play both.

I wonder what Bill thinks of him
