I'm not sure Vrabel and our DC are going to prioritize Carter unless they are positive he can stop the run.
That's fair but by all accounts he and Hunter are the only 2 blue chip prospects. That said there's quite a lot of depth at edge in this class. I've made the case for Mike Green as an option if both are gone. He is a little raw but has definitely shown the ability to stop the run.

I'm all in on Carter or Henry if we can't get 1 of them then I think trading back and picking up some extra capital makes sense so long as we still get Graham, Campbell, or Tet.
I'm out on Campbell and Tet in the top 10 let alone 5. Measurables will likely prove me right if they're willing to be tested at the combine.

I was thinking maybe if we traded with the saints or something. I'm only going back if we can't get Hunter or Carter.

I know things change but the way it looks now is Abdul Carter is gone by the time you pick. If Hunter is there I’m sold, not sure I’ve seen too many people question how great this kid could be.

This is a slow and dull team that’s in need of a game changer with a skill set that’s going to make him hard to stop

Pats sprint to the podium if Hunter is available at 4

They have many positive outcomes. Any one of Hunter, Graham, Carter is positive. Trading back and getting their LT is positive. And trading back and getting another 2nd, then taking Tyler Warren is another positive route they can go. And they should be able to do something really positive with their 2nd and the two 3rds. Really looking forward to this Draft.

It's a gamble I'd really like to take
He’s going to be a massive “I told you so either way”.

If he’s amazing, you’ll have people laughing at the idea that such a raw talent was questioned. If he’s just okay or worse you’ll have people laughing at the idea that his double duty play in college would translate.

There’s going to be so much “geniuses in hindsight” no matter what happened

What sort of concerns me regarding Hunter. Is if he is set in his own mind to play both ways and his coaches say nope not in the NFL then will he throw a tantrum because he doesn't get his own way. So I wonder if he is a team player, or a "me, me, me" type.

Receivers and CBs tend be a little more me, me, me than the rest of the team. I didn't watch Colorado so I could be way off but from what I've seen Hunter's ego seems a little more like Gilmore than Deion.

Hunter strikes me as a player with an insatiable appetite for getting the football, which makes him great at both CB and WR. He’s fantastic at tracking the ball and winning against both receivers and defenders. I get the sense he wants to be the best at what he does, whatever he does. But I also doubt he’ll be asked to be used the same exact way he was in college.

If he means what he says about wanting to surpass his mentor Deion Sanders, then he may commit to playing CB. If he’s looking for what will earn him the most money overall, WR could be the way he goes instead. Or maybe he will just play whichever way the team drafting him says to. I think that’s more likely than him protesting about his role. He’ll be important to whoever takes him.

Him or Carter could be there at 4.
Gotta hope between NYG Ten and Cleveland fall in love with Sanders.
I would like to see us draft Graham. Of course, I can see us drafting Carter instead. For me, Hunter will be worth more to someone else than to us (so we will be able to trade down 2-3 spots if Hunter is available).

Grahams, less than athletic profile worries me.
Give me the athlete from LB U.

but I think he has “it”

Why would a team draft Hunter knowing he wants to play both ways and then only allow him to play DB? Hypotheticals should be reasonable in expectation.

Hunter has been a team player in college and his coaches say he is a great person.

I think Vrabel and company are going to do what Bill did and build the trenches first. That means the most Seymour-like player. A guy who is a HOF anchor for us.
Anyone changed their minds about drafting a "skilled position" at #4, after seeing Eagles dominate in the trenches to beat the Chiefs ? (And Detrioit's success as well). Guess trading down is also an option....

Focusing on building from the inside out and less of a priority at WR etc.
Sigh, so many holes to fill ...

for me it is carter or graham or trade down
What if trade down isn't an option? Unless one of the teams is really hot for a QB, there just might not be much interest to trade up with us. At that point, I might just take the best OT.

if no one is willing to trade up, either graham or carter is going to be there....while i agree with build in the trenches and they will come, but i'd rather see them trade back up if needed for an OT later in 1 or into the 2nd......I just don't see reaching for one at 4

my ultimate scenario - trade with the jets, let them pick the next QB they are going to destroy, and still get the guy we want up front lol

i suspect we're going to see a hard run at an OT in free agency, when looking at the draft.......strange to C, hard run at a LT type in FA, draft one of the kids projected to move inside as a mauler G later in the draft......and get a dominant DL or Edge at 4.......that's what i'm thinking will happen

at this stage of the game, i'd much rather overpay for a FA OT than a FA WR.........solidifying that line is far more crucial to Maye's success than a big money WR right now.......and the fronts on both sides of the ball are going to be key to the rebuild

yukon posted: "carter, graham or a trade down"

If trade down isn't an option, we will simply draft carter or graham. Certainly, Graham will be there at 4. If not, SOMEONE will want to trade for Hunter or a QB.
