Yeah true but so was Maty P with the Lions. Not an issue if he's not a coordinator.McAdoo was a head coach so you’d think he would have experience on all phases.

Most of my people think he's a ****in' blowhard.I fully expect a Bedard column on Monday fretting about too much experience on Vrabels staff.
I forgot where I heard it but Caley put in some of the EP terminology/passing concepts into McVays offense to quicken the calls.EPO is no longer a real style, it changes week to week. You would never call the 2007 Patriots an original EPO.
The hardest thing is some of the terminology, the words like Bingo have different meaning in EPO vs WCO and having so many WCO coaches will be interesting how they adjust the terminology.
Maye doesn't really fit a WCO though he could run it fine it does not work to his strengths as much.
I think the good OC's adapt any system to the QB. Josh did it with Newton, he'll do it with Drake.
The dynamics of how all these WC coaches work with Josh will be interesting.

I can't stand it when he's on the clownshow, it gets even worse...as if...
I wonder what happened in Miami that Wes got fired. They did have a great WR room, but they also looked well coached and effective during his 3 years down there. Anyone got any info?
I loved the quote from Maye about how he has a couple decades of film watching the greatest QB of all time running this offensive system at a high level, so any time he wants a deeper understanding of a certain play or situation, he has a library he can tap where there’s likely multiple examples to watch.I forgot where I heard it but Caley put in some of the EP terminology/passing concepts into McVays offense to quicken the calls.

From Mike Reiss: "Slater was serving as the special assistant to former head coach Jerod Mayo, a position that didn't carry over to the new regime."Slater is out, anyone else report that?
Yeah sad to see High and Slater go, but maybe Mike found that them having loyalty to Mayo would be even the slightest of problems. From Mike Reiss: "Slater was serving as the special assistant to former head coach Jerod Mayo, a position that didn't carry over to the new regime."
Patriots' coaching staff continues to take shape under Vrabel
After bringing back Josh McDaniels as the offensive coordinator, Mike Vrabel has made other coaching adds this past week.www.espn.com
Given NFL restrictions on communications between coaches and players during the off season, and assuming McDaniels changes the playbook and play calling system, how do Maye and other players get a head start on learning the new system? Are there old playbooks floating around out there they could study?
Which turned out to be a complete disaster. I’m guessing Vrabel has reigned things in quite a bit. What makes you say so? They had no problem detailing Glaser role.. or Wolf's role.. during the collaboration last season.. the Patriots actually went all in to be more sound with the media.. and even have a segment showing KB and pop going shopping... this was NEVER done before. However McAdoo was the invisible man and never uttered a word
Wtf!!!! What-do-ya-do McAdoo somehow remains..

Mcadoooooooooo
Yeet
I’d almost prefer McAdoo was the QB coach instead of Ashton Grant. Grant has very little experience…should be Offensive assistant coach IMO.
Ben McAdoo
The Pats are retaining Ben McAdoo for the upcoming season, one of the few holdovers from the previous regime (special teams coaches Jeremy Springer and Tom Quinnare the others). But the 47-year-old McAdoo will work on the defensive side of the ball - in a role yet to be determined - which as far I can have been able to ascertain, he's never done in his collegiate or professional career. Your guess is as good as mine at this point. Sometimes you see NFL teams use former offensive coaches on the defensive side to help them identify weaknesses and how offenses might attack them.
