The two best offensive lines and defensive lines are in the SB. That’s not a coincidence. Yeah, KC has Mahomes, but Hurts isn’t exactly a superstar QB. He’s competent. I’d like to think Maye can at least reach the competent level, and if we can get similar OL and DL then maybe we can be the ones meeting the Chiefs in the AFCCG often in the near future.
Everyone drools over Wr’s. They are sexy picks. Obviously they are needed
Until you solidify your Trenches. You will struggle to win it all

Does this make Graham more likely at pick 4?
I don't know. However, Abdul Carter/Mason Graham/Kenneth Walker/Tyleik Williams/Jalon Walker/Jihaad Campbell. If we come away with at least one, if not more in this draft that would be a nice start. I'm good with Graham at #4. If Deone Walker is there in the 3rd Round or back of the 2nd, I'd jump on that. 6'6' and 345lbs! Nice middle of the line clog right out of camp until he learns some pass rush moves.

In 2021 Alabamas OL allowed alot of sacks and despite Brian Robinson having a ton of yards and TD's, much of it was because Robinson was just a good runner. In 2022 and 2023 the Saints offensive line was bottom 3rd in most OL metrics. He is also a reported ****.

I hope I am wrong and will gladly eat crow if I am.
They did the nice guy thing last year and it didn’t work out too well. Vrabel was smart to recruit a bunch of ****s who can lay the lumber. Looks like he brought in really nice mix of black ****s and white ****s.

I wonder if Mayo even personally knows half of the coaching staff who we just hired?
Heck, I wonder if at the start of last season Mayo even personally knew half of the coaching staff he just hired?

This is shaping up to be an experienced, accomplished coaching staff. Almost everyone hired will be in a coaching position at their highest level of competence. I’m really impressed at what Vrabel is assembling.

Now they need players.
Vrabel really learned his lesson he remembered how the GOAT HC did it: when he was a player. It's starts from the Top.
I’m tremendously impressed by what Vrabel has done and is doing. He’s been both methodical and decisive. He has put together an impeccable blue chip staff. It’s clear he has a vision for the team he is building and knows what he wants in his coaching staff. I’m sure every one of them would take it as a personal insult for their team to be called “soft” and I feel fairly confident there’s not much risk of that happening again next season.

What’s really great is that with the staff coming together so quickly and so well they can spend time now digesting Vrabes’ vision for the team and figuring out what players they want to implement it. I expect they’ll be targeting their FA and trade acquisitions and building the draft board systematically. No more throwing spaghetti at the wall looking for an OL.

This is fun to watch!

I think Chase reduces Higgins opportunities and he’s underrated because Chase is so good. If you extrapolate Higgins stats in 5 games without Chase to 17 games you get
105 catches, 1737 yards and 10 td’s
He thrived more without Chase
I'm warming up to the idea of going after kupp.. and still trying to sign Higgins.. that would be great for Drake and the offense.

Highly agree. I also love the fact that Vrabel is going to run the same defense as in Tennessee.. feeling like the possibility of adding Simmons is becoming more and more realer.

Jeffery Simmons signed a 4 year, $94,000,000 contract with the Tennessee Titans, including $24,000,000 signing bonus, $59,330,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $23,500,000. In 2025, Simmons will earn a base salary of $17,500,000, while carrying a cap hit of $22,800,000 and a dead cap value of $20,400,000.

Which was the best reason to never hire him in the first place. An NFL Head Coach job is the pinnacle of the profession, and the coaches who get them need to have the experience and connections to put together the best coaching staff possible. Mayo had neither the coaching experience nor the coaching connections to accomplish that. As a result the season was an unmitigated failure. They looked lost all season long. The players knew they were in over their head and played as individuals, instead of being able to play like cohesive units and as a team. The only saving grace to the whole fiasco was that Kraft pulled the plug on it, hired Vrabel, and gave him the ability and authority to put together a really strong coaching staff. We won’t see a repeat of last season for a long time.

Agree completely. I will consider free agency a complete success if they spend every dime of it on the OLine and Defensive front 7.

There's no way they're trading him.

The NFL is a league where I can never count out anything.. this very same team traded away AJ Brown.. so anything can happen..
Brown was toward the end of his contract and threatened to not re-up. They were trying to get value for him before losing him. They're not at risk of losing Simmons, having just re-signed him. This is all meaningless chatter, but very, very unlikely.

Oh I get it.. different scenarios.. but inwas just eluding to the level of player that they traded away. . Of course if they did they aren't just going to give him away like they did with AJ.

Any word on Pelligrino and Baby Belichick?
I assumed Pellegrino was a lock because he attended Vrabel's intro press conference and was one of the first guys to shake his hand/congratulate him afterwards but we haven't heard anything yet. Maybe he was such a lock that they didn't even bother announcing it. Lol

That would be awesome.

What's happening also indicates that MV has juice around the league, that he's a leader who can persuade people to come here. That bodes well for free agent acquisitions.

I don't care about him being a ****, but you can't suck and be a ****. As a OL coach his teams have shown poorly since 2021 in Alabama and the Saints.
