As a fan I'm elated for this move. I give AVP props for development of Drake he did a great job. Play caller not so much. I know the OL was a huge reason why AVP couldn't call everything he would have liked. However that ship has sailed ️. Josh has the structure, the ability to game plan and utilize the skill positions in the offense. I've never missed sound coaching like I have after the season of Jarod rust.
Are their college FBs we should have our eye on?

Absolutely agree! Bring the FB back to the offense.. look at San Francisco they have an all pro fullback. We need another James devlin type.. what I'm most excited for is the slot WR position and the 3rd down back.. gibby is going to thrive under Josh.
I almost forgot about Gibby yess.

PF2 this is all positives.. seriously brother.. we were a comedy show on both sided of the ball last season... now Terrell Williams is the New DC another veteran coach who's aggressive and has been around.

Biggest winners in this outside of Drake is pop and gibby!!!
Yeah, I think the players with ability are going to take a big step forward this year as they're put in position to succeed. And I think we'll have a much better chance to assess what we have on defense.

Absolutely agree. Boutte will have in my opinion a Jabar gaffney type role and impact in the offense. Also really like the Terrell Williams hire.. guys a veteran coach.. and the Titans players raved about him... especially Justin Simmons... feels like the possibility of getting Simmons becomes more realistic...

Isn’t he injured a lot.

He's not only injured a lot but I believe he's coming up in ACL now and he's getting old. *Edit. Dislocated ankle requiring surgery

Unless you can have them for under 20 million dollars a season I don't want nothing to do with this guy.

You know it dawned on me why suddenly Minihane got 2 big scoops recently and it ties into my idea of it being intentional by Vrabel.

Vrabel was/is very close with his old tackle in Tennessee, Taylor Lewan, who has had a show with Barstool for a few years now. Now Vrabel comes to NE and suddenly in his first couple weeks Kirk Minihane randomly gets big scoops before anyone else.

Who does Minihane work for? Barstool. You can draw a dotted line here.

IMO Vrabel thinks the usual “locals” like Curran need to be knocked down a peg or two and so is leaking to lowly Barstool to turn the local media power dynamic on its head. Plus potentially also doing a solid for Barstool simply because he likes them.

Excellent. Interesting that Vrabel or someone close to him leaked the Glaser stuff early. Might suggest the new blood wasn't exactly sad to see her go.

I don't see why Vrabel would waste his time on this.

No it wasn’t. According to Curran and Bedard the Pats wanted Bill O’Brien to stay on as OC last year, but he decided to go to Ohio State and then on to BC. According to Albert Breer the Pats wanted Nick Caley next and offered him a lucrative offer for a first time OC which Caley turned down.

O’Brien wasn’t WC. Caley had only worked in LA one season, so they weren’t expecting him to install that offense here. AVP was just the best of the options left to them not that they wanted the WCO.
I like Caley even more now knowing that he was smart enough to urn down the job last season, he knew it was going to be a mess.

God, these coordinators are so much more reassuring than the guys we had last year. Now we just need some good position coaches.
Real good ones too and not leeches.

Step 1 is to act like this year is important and not an extended preseason to evaluate the roster. Last year was doomed before the FA period started with Wolf and Mayo sending the wrong message to the team while lowering expectations to protect themselves from scrutiny. Players like Gonzo and White will welcome the change in expectations, anyone who liked the atmosphere last year is in for a rude awakening.

I agree. He is a good player and great hands, he is 28 so you could get at least another two years out of him but the injuries concern me. If we could get him on a good deal I wouldn't mind bringing him on board but he is not the solution.
