That was a very weird one. He was extremely short and almost rude, and for the first time ever he just conveniently lost his blue pin representing Kraft's philanthropic endeavor. What a coincidence... He either knew he was being fired or that it was at least fairly likely to happen.

What an ******* move by MayoNays if true. The more I learn about him, the more I despise him. Worst HC of the B/NEP Evah.

I said several times the NFL's viewpoint on racial bias has changed significantly over the past 30 years. Yes, I believe we would have seen a significant increase in HCs of color with or without the Rooney Rule. There's no quarterback Rooney Rule, and yet we see far, far more QBs of color over the past 25 years than anytime prior to that, don't we? Is it your contention that the Rooney Rule also created all those QBs of color too?

Why my belief angers you so much remains a complete mystery, but all your personal attacks don't make you any less wrong.

No one's talking about the previous 25 years. I was talking about the 80 years leading up to the fact that the NFL felt it was necessary to implement the Rooney rule.

I'm not going to debate with you about whether or not a player will or will not get an opportunity based on the color of their skin. We're way beyond that.

You're the second person today to make the argument that a player doesn't lose their job or have a disadvantage at their job based on the color of their skin. My contention would be that if you can play in the NFL nobody cares what color you are. That color barrier was broken many decades ago.
If you need me to explain to you how the NFL's views on race have evolved over the past 45 years, you're too stupid to be engaging in this discussion.

Don't gaslight me with this ******** that I personally attacked you. Clear as day, unsolicited you came at me and made it personal. You did that. I quoted you with literally verbatim this quote following your response.

It's not me who made it personal.

What does that have to do with what I said?

You're very good at calling people names when you don't like what they say. That's nice of you.

You've still not addressed the fact that the NFL hired five minorities in 8 decades but are quick to point out that it's snowflake ideology to acknowledge this fact.
It has everything to do with it and its shows how silly you are. I am black and I don't care about your silly claims. Neither do most fans. You just want to shoot your mouth off to get attention with no real point and no one cares. Its snowflake ideology. We don't need your self-righteous solidarity. Just hire the best person for the job. I don't need to address your stats. I don't care. America has grown radically after the civil rights movement and we now live in 2025. I live for today and tomorrow, not yesterday.

If you were actually serious, you would expand your righteousness and start protesting for women who have never had a major coaching position. Crickets? Hahahaha. Ya. Exactly. From here on out, every team needs to interview two women and two minorities before hiring a coach. Hahahaha. Oh wait. We now need to extend that to two lesbians, transgender people, and furries. And that is not criticizing them either. It is recognizing they are a much less minority than we African Americans. So now we are are up to interviewing 10 specialized minorities. In the history of the league, there has never been a transgender as a head coach. That is unfair. We need a transgender rule. According to your logic, when this rule is put in place, more transgenders will be hired as coaches and there will be more diversity. Just stop it. If there is a transgendered person who is the best candidate, interview them and hire them. If not, don't. Interview and hire people based on the content of their character and not the color of their skin. I heard that somewhere before. Oh ya, happy MLK Day.

Check out this maga ****.

You seem confused by the Rooney rule. It does not give jobs to unqualified minorities.

You’ve made your point at least 25 times, enough already.

This may be a little OT but I’ve been wondering how these guys that do multiple things, like BB being the HC and defacto GM get paid. Do they get a check for each title or is it all factored into their main title? I understand many are the wearer of many hats, in their field and mine so I’m just curious as to how things are ran. Tbh how their ops are run is fascinating really. Color me nerd…don’t kill me.

What an ******* move by MayoNays if true. The more I learn about him, the more I despise him. Worst HC of the B/NEP Evah.
Too many people liked him to just to like him.

I don't expect position coaches to elevate players, but Mayo was never known to have the potential to be an X's and O's guy. This was the reason I didn't like him as HC. The only thing I saw from him was how entitled he was.

I feel ya. I was wondering the same thing about the two who keep blowing up my phone with the same point over and over.

I'm guessing you don't quite feel the same about them though.

I suspect there is a metal illness on the internet that when someone makes you look like a fool, you just blame maga, which is totally unrelated to the issue. I am not maga. I never have been. I never will be. It has nothing to do with football. Once again your lying mouth pukes out crap. I never said the Rooney Rule gives jobs to unqualified minorities. It may force teams to interview unqualified minorities.

Your posting is out of gas. Go away little boy.

No one said you was maga.
Forcing an employer to interview someone based on skin color or gender is ridiculous and patronizing. Higher the best person for the job and judge him/her by the content of his character.

So you claim on one hand that you never said the Rooney rule gives jobs to unqualified candidates but one the other hand you're flipping **** about how the Rooney rule forces you to hire candidates based on skin color or gender. Which it doesn't do at all. How am I lying? You said it. Clear as day.
Just hire the best person for the job. I don't need to address your stats. I don't care. America has grown radically after the civil rights movement and we now live in 2025. I live for today and tomorrow, not yesterday.

Again, you're making a point that you want the best person hired. So if your point isn't that the Rooney rule gives jobs to unqualified candidates, why do you keep mentioning it? Why are you trying to claim on one hand that you want the best candidate hired and in the other hand say that the minority coach hired isn't the best qualified? Who says the minority hire isn't the best available candidate? Who is making that claim?
I don't care. I am a wife and mother and am not whining that no woman has been hired as a head coach, GM, OC, or DC. I am a Patriots fan. I want to win. I will enjoy the next 4 years and 40 beyond that while the stupid snowflakes and cupcakes whine. Just hire the best person for the job.

Over and over you keep making the claim. So you're not saying the Rooney rule gives jobs to unqualified candidates but you're also saying the NFL should only hire the best person for the job. The Rooney rule doesn't force you to hire anyone or give the job to a unqualified candidate. Unqualified candidate in this context means, not the most qualified person. You keep implying that the NFL is hiring people based on skin color and passing over the best candidates.

That has never happened in the history of the NFL.

We get it. You don't want people getting interviews simply because they are a minority. Understood. No one wants that.

I feel ya. I was wondering the same thing about the two who keep blowing up my phone with the same point over and over.

I'm guessing you don't quite feel the same about them though.
No because lately you seem to do this in every thread. It’s too bad because I agree with a lot of your points on these threads.

So I should just capitulate and leave them on read?

Yes. I agree this has been happening a lot lately but I assure you I only respond to the nonsense that people are sending my way.

Like calling me a cupcake with snowflake ideology.

Check out my new scenario. It's A+ airtight speculation:

Glaser told him. They were tight. He then told some of his coaches, and they went all out with their playbooks against an opponent playing straight up vanilla. The Krafts were livid, which is why he was fired and escorted out immediately after his press conference.

After some digging the Krafts found the leak: Glaser. Just a Brutus-level betrayal, Mangini-esque if you will. There could never be trust again between her and the Krafts. And thus her resignation lay on Kraft’s desk a few days later.

Mayo still didn't get a fair shot.

If you're going to give a guy a chance, then get 100% behind him and do everything possible so that he can succeed. Vrabel needs time to turn this around just like Mayo did too.

No one's talking about the previous 25 years. I was talking about the 80 years leading up to the fact that the NFL felt it was necessary to implement the Rooney rule.
This entire forum is talking about the previous 25 years. You're the only one stuck in the 1960's and 1970's. Disco forever, bro!!

And I noticed you completely ignored my comment about how there are more and more QBs of color over the past 25 years. Rooney Rule, huh?

No one said you was maga.
"Check out this Maga ****" - festy1986, responding to imahobgoblin
"No one said you was maga" - also festy1986, responding to imahobgoblin

Just more pathetic, attempted gaslighting. At least man up and own your own statements.

In the 80 years leading up to the Rooney rule which you people claim is exclusionary and unnecessary.

I know reading is hard and you people hate equality but try and keep up.

It's a absolute fact that when left up to their own devices, the owners do not hire minorities.

Enjoy your 4 years.
"Since black HCs aren't being hired at the rate I'd like, the owners must be racist. The owners must be forced to hire more black HCs." A laughable argument straight from the pit of hell. Since 2000, there have been 17 black HCs and 142 HCs (excluding interim). That's a 12% clip, very close to the black share of the population, 13%. That doesn't prove anything of course, but trashes your "the owners do not hire minorities" argument. No owner has been forced to hire a black HC during that timeframe.

My advice to you is RESIST and wear your mask.

I really find it hard to believe that Mayo did not tell Thunder that he would need time to get up to the demands of the job.

Why else would Mayo say that he would be better next season?

If both sides know and agree that Mayo would get a fair amount of time to succeed or fail then pulling the plug this early is BS.

So I should just capitulate and leave them on read?
Yes, that is exactly what you should do. We all do it from time to time, please join the vast majority of the Board.
