True, but it also means, for better or worse, that it would have to involve 2026 picks.Technically you are right.
But... there's always a but isn't there...
You come to an agreement on a trade. You just file the trade paperwork after June 1. the trading team reaps the benefits of cost splitting the post 6/1 designation allows
Watson is on IR with ACL PF2.. he's often injured too for a young player misses alot of Time..Love the Thread AJ: speaking about WR I wonder if the Pack are ready to move on from that guy below?? He's been injured a lot but good when he plays: he's a proven X - WR. Watson probably wouldn't cost us more than a Fourth or Fifth Rounder.

Agreed...two teams want to make a deal.. they will make it happen regardless of the contract.. I'm starting to warm up to the idea of trading for AJ as well... I'm starting to pivot from signing tee because as PATSYLICIOUS mentioned Cincy could tag him again.Technically you are right.

they could indeed tag him a second time... might be beneficial to work a trade for him, ala BB trading for Wes Welker? it would require he sign a deal with Cincy... but it could be doneAgreed...two teams want to make a deal.. they will make it happen regardless of the contract.. Now why are you getting me all worked up Pape welker was probably one of bills best trades ever! Guy was just phenomenal! True in like a sign-n-trade? I'm thinking chase is the priority.. Burrow has public stated that he wants both his guys back.. but I don't think ownerships arms have grown any to reach thier pockets.they could indeed tag him a second time... might be beneficial to work a trade for him, ala BB trading for Wes Welker? it would require he sign a deal with Cincy... but it could be done
Agreed. With one caveat: The higher and greater the number of picks, the much younger the Vet. I want players that'll be in their prime for 5 to 10 years from the first year of their contract with the Patriots. The only exceptions being OL and DL who we only need for a couple or three years, but have young and promising replacements to take over once they're done.Other than #4 I am all in on the strategy of trading for Vets. There are so many holes that we need to use all avenues to more talent that we can.
I wanted the Patriots to draft Watson in the 2nd Round when we were picking and he was still there, but they took Thornton instead. However, since being drafted by the Packers (I live in Green Bay), he's always been injured (and that was before the latest one). Nice player when healthy, but he can't stay healthy.Watson is on IR with ACL PF2.. he's often injured too for a young player misses alot of Time..
I'm not worried about 5 to ten years from now at this moment. Don't let that stop you from getting guys who can help right away.Agreed. I do worry if the draft pick or picks are too high.I'm not worried about 5 to ten years from now at this moment. Don't let that stop you from getting guys who can help right away.
Awesome... your in GB the NFC WR factory.. Pittsburgh is the AFC wr factory.. we are the wr scrap yard.. I have to think all WRs thar get drafted have talent or they wouldn't be in the draft.. I believe our issues are putting value over talent over the years.I wanted the Patriots to draft Watson in the 2nd Round when we were picking and he was still there, but they took Thornton instead. That's what we sorely lack guys that can play right away.. under Vrabel even Taylor lewan was was saying.. he's not standing for some weak ass guys in the trenches.. the OL and DL will be stout on our team I can bet for sure!I'm not worried about 5 to ten years from now at this moment. I felt great about Vrabel already but after the Lions game I'm even more convinced we got the right man for the job. ABSOLUTELY!! Ben Johnson is a great offensive mind.. but he should stay at Detroit at least one more season.. Vrabel I'm so happy has the say on the roster when it comes to LBs I trust his abilities to identify the guys we need... also we need to inquire about Mac Wilson.. that guy is perfect coverage LB..I felt great about Vrabel already but after the Lions game I'm even more convinced we got the right man for the job. Now LFG!
